Virginia is thru June 10.....
Northam may have let the truth out.
Country will be wrecked by then.

At the rate this thing is going across the country we won't see any kind of normal life till June. This is some bad shite and it's STILL gonna get worse before it gets better.

Ok. Be that way. That shite is old and stale. Find some new material.

These elected officials will be too high on power by then

If we return to same normal, we'll get the same shite happen all over again. Our brains, we must use them!!

The job losses are staggering, I am not sure how so many small businesses are going to come back from this, nor will people be okay. 45 days with no wages, and an unemployment system that does not work, I am thinking Louisiana is in trouble for a long while after this.

I just want to be normal by June 1

not necessarily

luckily a bunch of smarter people than all of us are currently using them and will hopefully find ways to resolve or at least lessen a lot of our current issues in 4 weeks
with as quickly as things have changed over the last 4 weeks, I have no idea why anyone would be confident in knowing what we will be doing in another 4 weeks

We're not supposed to be locked down until there is a vaccine or nobody ever dies from coronavirus again. That was never the goal.

If you think people are adhering to the stay at home orders, I encourage you to take a little drive around BR, while traffic is definitely lighter, people are not staying home. I had to run to the other side of town for veggies, I was surprised by the number of cars on the interstate in the middle of the day.

So you can run across town for veggies but you don't expect others to be doing the same?
Posted on 4/4/20 at 12:08 pm to StringedInstruments
I think by May 15 we will be returning to some level of normalcy.

I agree with this. It's gonna be a rough few months. We WILl recover but when??????? The oil industry is screwed. It will take much longer for that to recover than most anyone else. Plus opening the spillway will end up hurting the seafood industry for a long while. Bottom line is that this whole thing is fricked up.

End of June is my hope

Virginia isn't projected to peak until the end of May. Not sure why it is so much later than the rest of the country. Hopefully it's earlier.
I live in VA, but am hopeful other states will be open significantly earlier than we are.

we are predicted to peak in a week and we are currently trending on the low end of all models
if we see significant decline for 2 weeks after the peak, I don't see why we couldn't begin removing restrictions in phases
The numbers will dictate what we do on 5/1. There is absolutely no way people will accept an additional 30days of staying at home if the numbers are trending how most models show on 5/1.
The first thing that will happen is non-essential businesses reopening.... bars/restaurants/malls etc. I would expect all of them to operate under reduced hours and capacity with social distancing measures recommended. Masks should be worn. etc.
Large gatherings however I really can't see happening until mass testing is available or a known treatment/vaccine.

Trump even used June 1st as a day that we would be well on our way to recovery. This isn’t great because so far Trump has been overly optimistic when giving dates. I am willing to bet some restrictions in some places are lifted in May but a majority of people won’t see relief until June.
