re: Anyone really believe we’re going back to even semi-normal on May 1st?

But do you think the best solution is to just let people go ahead and move freely? Especially when it's clear that we (Louisiana) have not approached the peak in cases and are likely looking at a situation where hospitals across the state will max out by next week.
How about we take it week by week instead of getting into a dick measuring contest with who can issue the latest stay at home order?

I say open the shite back up. Let’s all get it at the same time and let the strong survive. Hunger games style. I’ll post up at Cooter Browns

I keep hearing this statement, for about 2 weeks now. It's the can getting kicked down the road.
In fact, where in the USA are the hospitals overrun? Are they in NYC?

I've already been exposed to it at work and gone through the 14 day self quarantine . So the Hunger Games style seems highly entertaining.
Also, you being a Cooter Browns fan makes me proud and laugh at the same time.

I like that some of you are focusing on this. Correct, no one is literally locked into their home. However, if the restrictions are so great that your only options in many areas of the country are a walk around the neighborhood or a trip to home depot with a curfew in place then the effect is essentially the same.
If you admit people are not locked in their homes why are you saying it? Not being able to sit in a restaurant, go to a bar, or go to the mall does not even come close to being locked in your home. You can still get in your and drive coast to coast if you want to.

Not that I disagree with you completely. But do you think the best solution is to just let people go ahead and move freely? we are predicted to peak in a week and we are currently trending on the low end of all models
if we see significant decline for 2 weeks after the peak, I don't see why we couldn't begin removing restrictions in phases

Great beer selection. Trivia. Pretty good bar food. Oysters. Big arse TVs to see sports not being played. And a $10 Uber to the house
Btw we have a ton ochsner employees as clients. No doubt in my mind I’ve already been exposed to it.

Ummm Florida and Texas beg to differ
And if I can’t get out of my house to sit at a bar , drink beer and eat chicken wings, then that’s essentially prison.

Not exactly, if you are from certain states they are going to quarantine you when you cross the state line. They take tabs on your and then check on you for 14 days, if you aren't in the same location, you get arrested

It was pretty clear he didn’t mean it literally.

Sporting events, weddings, birthday parties, religious celebrations, group meetings, school events...lot more than just “bars, restaurants, and malls”...

Link?
I don't think they can imprison you if you are passing through the state. If you enter Tx later today, and the "check in on you Monday" and you're already back at your house in NOLA, are they going to send the Marshalls to your house to bring you back to Tx so they can lock you up?

Semi-normal mid May. Economic pressure will force the issue.
Posted on 4/4/20 at 11:07 am to musick
It only applies if you are staying in the state. Texas isn’t even stopping people for it. Florida is stopping people but not enforcing anything.
So yes you can still drive coast to coast.0

Especially since, surprise surprise, the implementation of the two trillion dollar stimulus package is turning into a goat rodeo.
A lot of people were cool with this when they thought Uncle Sam was going to quickly make them whole and essentially provide them with a paid four month vacation but once reality on that score hits, people will start getting antsy.

At the rate this thing is going across the country we won't see any kind of normal life till June. This is some bad shite and it's STILL gonna get worse before it gets better. Because alot of people think they won't catch it and will go about their daily lives like nothing is going on.

All I can say is, frick China. I am going to do everything I can to eliminate anything made in China from my life. Nothing against the Chinese people (although they are nasty frickers) but their government caused this. I'm researching and clearing out my investment portfolio of any investments in China, period. If a company has any manufacturing there, I am done with them.
