Just got my open enrollment packet in the mail today. My BC/BS family plan is going up a little less than $10 per coat period for 2027.

Let’s be real, the real issue is having Spouse + Children on your Employer Health Insurance and the Company does not Contribute towards the Spouse / Dependents. That’s when the Cost just gets crazy.

Still praying that AI can lead to deflation in medical costs, but these damn insurance companies/lobbyists will just pocket the additional margin.

I have BCBS because unfortunately they are the best option where I work.

But I want to officially go on record to say frick BCBS and they can sick my duck. They have denied several things related to my cancer this year, and they can kiss my fricking arse forever.

I bet most of this increase is from GLP-1 drugs. Insanely expensive and almost everyone is on them.

Your plan is for 4 people. Works out to be $5,400 per person to insure a human body.

Seems about right when you consider it costs you probably $2,000 a year to insure a 100k car.

Our company switched from United Health to BCBS this year and my premium each month is around 160. My husband has BCBS and his is around 380 a month and that includes our son being on his policy. What kind of plans yall got that cost so mich?
i also don't have super expensive insurance but I also work for a large company

Would assume a lot of the people getting wrecked are either self employed or work for smaller businesses

Either way its absolutely ridiculous it has gotten to the point it has and there is absolutely no momentum to even try to fix anything that is completely broken

Ours went up about 25%.

I was paying $105/month and it went up to $133.

The total per month is $822 for just me, so the employer is kicking in 87% of that cost. I can't complain; its the folks insuring the whole family that take the largest hits.

Company covers 75% of mine, but it’s still $1010 a month for me and one child. I think it would around $1650 for the two of us if they didn’t cover part of mine.

Your company needs to go self insured and get reinsurance through a captive. I pay $522/month to cover my wife and I with a $4,000 deductible on an HDHP plan. Company puts $4,000/year into my HSA which covers everything up to the deductible. I put in $3,000/year. Building it up to pay for Medicare when I retire.

We left BCBS 7 years ago. Best decision.

Goddamn! I'm glad I work for a large company who pays most of mine. I don't know how some of you folks do it.
