There would not be any wage shock. There aren't that many people working on one shift. More people would eat there if they had security. It would be a good place to eat after a concert, but some of them are sketchy as f at night....

$25 an hour is basically a living wage at this point.
You are scraping by at $25 per hour. They won't get it, but $20 an hour would be a good start towards an actual living wage.
I don't say these are "starter jobs." They aren't for a lot of the workers....

None of these demands are unreasonable. What is unreasonable is that people will reduce their tips if the meal prices go up. They should demand mandatory tips (15% minimum).
Waffle Houses are hovels, but the food has surprising appeal....
