I shed a tear.

Milling Benson was good to me.

And I miss the coffee served on fine china with saucers.

They haven’t been relevant in a long time. A fraction of their former size.

Old mouths keep sucking up money that the younger workers make. Eventually the money makers get tired and move on. The overhead on law offices can be insane.

I wouldn't expect a convenience store clerk to understand such things, but some people and businesses need legal representation for legitimate disputes.

Looks like they wanted to get one more Mardi Gras in as a firm & then go out for good on Ash Wednesday.

Peggy Laborde will review whether or not to issue Comus Rex tickets next year.

Big Nola law firms have historically had a lot of staying power. Not counting mergers, prior to 2026 I could only think of two closing in my lifetime. This makes two in the last two months.

They had 2 partners die within 1 year. One to a heart attack and the other to cancer or something. That will wreck a law firm and quick

Some major firms are looking to sell out to PE.

Not so easy in the legal profession. It’s happening in the Vet and dentistry professions. When it happens, professionalism goes out the window. Hope the legal profession doesn’t let this happen.

Hopefully AI forces more law firms to shut down.

When the money stops pouring in it exposes how stupid the smartest lawyers can be running a business.

That was sarcasm. People are blaming AI for everything bad for laughs.

The city is dying by a long shot. You can’t swing a cat in New Orleans without hitting a lawyer.
