By most accounts, Alex Murdaugh was a dino, who wouldn't be someone any "leftist" would step out of their way to help.

The politics of largely PI firms is complicated. While the attorneys may be fiscally conservative, they tend to vote and contribute to Democrats because even though their taxes are higher under Democrats, they can usually make far more money under them before it is taxed. It is normally a large net positive for them. But again, anyone thinking the SC Sup Ct is liberal by any stretch is completely uninformed. All the current justices were appointed by overwhelmingly Republican legislatures. Up until 2024 they had had an all white male court for a long time, the only one in the US at the time, Justice Verdan was seated about 2 years ago, she is a white woman.

Which seemed to be the case with Alex.

I hope they televise the next trial if it goes that far. Somehow, I can’t get enough of watching this sicko. He creeps me out, but I can’t look away.

Or maybe, just maybe, I live in SC and know WTF I’m talking about. This isn’t the only case they’ve gone stupid you know. They have a long track record of doing stupid leftist shite. So why don’t YOU take a seat and quit trying to tell everyone what’s happening in a state you don’t even fricking live in.

Let me ask you a simple question: How many times have you argued in front of the SC Sup. Ct.?

What does that have to do with anything? I never spoke in front of congress before either but I know they are inept and incompetent and self serving.

It has everything to do with it because you are talking out of your arse.

I work in Charlotte and live in SC. I have lived over 45 years of my life in SC. The first time I had orals in front of the SC Sup. Ct. was 1996. I have argued over 20 times since then. My literal job is to know and understand the philosophical approach to the law every justice has. Calling the current court makeup "leftist" is well into the realm of laughable. You simply don't know what you are talking about.

This is a prime example of you making strong declarative statements and being dead wrong.

100% Mr. I live in South Carolina and know everyone on an anonymous forum, that does or does not live in my state, implied this decision was "leftist" when in reality it is just a middle-of-the-road constitutional decision. Anyone with any legal acumen (by that I mean anyone who has seen at least 2 episodes of Law and Order) knew from the moment the clerk's actions became public that there would be a new trial. That ain't "leftist" by any reasonable standard.

That was one of the hardest mike drop responses I've seen.

Being said, he'll probably still respond with some nonsense.

I’ve watched all the docs, read the Valerie Bauerlein book about him, and have been listening to one of the Murdaugh podcasts since it started and have been following the appeal.

You’re right, It’s all Becky Hill’s fault.

I’ve heard a few interviews of the juror, Myra, who was removed right before deliberations. Her story was that Becky approached her and asked her how she was leaning and she told her she wasn’t sure. Next thing she knew, it was reported to the judge that Myra was discussing the trial when none of the jurors were supposed to do so. I can’t remember all the details, but the person who turned Myra in was someone linked to Becky. According to Myra, none of it was true. She accused Becky of purposefully getting her removed from the jury since she hadn’t decided on what her vote would be.

Hope Becky’s shitty Today show interview was worth it. What a dumbass.

That's a life sentence anyway. I think he'll take a plea and get another 40.

The man's ego will not allow this. He is already doing a life sentence he will never admit to killing his family.
