isn't this double jeopardy?
No - he wants a new trial.
Double jeopardy is only if he beat the rap, in which case the state of South Carolina can't come at him again.
Typically it also means if he's convicted of an included, lesser charge (like manslaughter) he can't get murder on the retrial.

This is the douche who claimed he was nowhere near the crime scene then they produced a recording of him at the scene a few minutes before the crime? Then he said he didn’t want to admit he was at the scene because it would make him look guilty if he admitted it? Yeah frick that guy

Why does nobody with a net worth under $50,000,000 ever get their convictions overturned on these lame grounds?

It happens regularly. 99% of them don't make the news.

DA should file a motion to disgorge her of whatever profit/advance from the book to pay for the retrial. Stupid bitch

I haven’t read or watched anything about it since the original doc. What was the evidence that his son was involved as well?

Becky Hill should be in jail herself.

This entire family was cringe AF, they murdered the maid and claimed she fell down the stairs so her sons could sue their insurance co.
Then Alex stole the money (4 million) they were awarded

Yeah he went to great length and detail to fabricate how he wasn’t there. Even tried to pressure his elderly mom’s nurse into saying he was there much longer than he was.

The clerk of court poisoned the jury pool before the trial. She was trying to become famous and sell a book/memoir about it. Ended up being convicted herself of a few crimes.

I did a deep dive on this stuff years ago, so some of it is foggy. There were some land purchases from a friend a while back. Land was crap, just small barrier islands off the coast. The previous owner was a known drug smuggler, but also had influence in the state. Alex with a friend bought the land from that guy. Who knows. I definitely think he killed them, but I don't think he was by himself when he did it.
