Owned one for about a year in Pennsylvania. It was in rough shape and I was gonna fix it up but never had the time. Sold it when I moved back south. It ran but was rough.

Yep, had an 83. Have always had the itch to own another. However, broken bones don’t heal as quickly as they used to.

In 1984 my dad surprised us w a TRX125 Honda. May have been the first year Honda made 4 wheelers. It was stable and fun but a Pig. My BIL at the time had a 200S that would pull your shoulder out of socket trying to start. One day he showed up with a gold rim 250R in 86. Every day we rode after, which was at least twice a week for years, he would fishtail on me riding by and I ate nothing but mud and dust.

My brother has like 4 of these completely restored. They are sick. Has Kawasaki Tecate 3 250 as well. The Tecate 3's were actually faster than the ATC.

I have an 87 Big Red 250. I don’t ride it much but it cranks and goes when I need it to. It was a nostalgia buy about 10 years ago and I probably will never get rid of it. It will throw you off if you don’t pay attention to it.

There wasn't a year that went by back in the elementary school that these things didn't knock a kid out of school for a few days. And then they came back, the whole class would sign the cast.

Damn those things were fun. Unfortunately once everyone started getting four-wheelers it became impossible to navigate the trails with a 3 wheeler. You were on rails.

Had an ‘84 or ‘83 200S which was the 200cc engine on the 185 frame. Loved that bike.

The greatest thing I ever rode- also the thing that nearly made me have a ride in a helicopter.
Best memory- Yamaha had come out with the Raptor. Kids in the Spillway on Raptors ripping around. “Hey, y’all wanna race those old things against these?” “Yeah, sure”….snickering. Even a bone stock ‘85 would destroy the Raptor. The other bike we had with an Eric Gorr cylinder, fabbed pipe hidden under a stock heat guard, and a head that…If I remember right….was reworked from a Yamaha or a Suzuki something or other- I can’t remember what the deal was with that- it was like racing a top fuel dragster against a sportsman car.
Those were the days! I had (actually still have) a full Jeff Fredette KDX that would make an arse out of a stock CR250.

A friend of my still has his he bought new, it’s in excellent condition.
I ride it once or twice a year and I’m finally smart (old) enough to know when to save it before it bucks me off.

In 2002, I bought a 1982 Honda Big Red 200 for 200 bucks from an old farmer my dad knew. Man I had fun with that thing even though all my buddies called me poor because i didn't have a 4 wheeler lol, I had more fun with the 3 wheeler than they ever did with the overpriced extra wheel...my dad gave it to my sister's ex boyfriend when I was in the USAF in Germany... still makes me mad haha he thought I forgot about it in the garage...

My brother had a Honda FatCat. A Dirt bike with 4 wheeler tires. He busted his arse on it a few times.
