I feel really stupid. I think I thought the moon was bigger in a conceptual sort of way, even though I knew it was way smaller than Earth.

well it takes 49 moons to make up the size/volume of earth. I've never been interested in the moon, but I would like for there to be live cam so i can watch aliens get hammered. I'm sure they do star dust and hookers up there

I'm the same....and I am a huge space nerd.


I mean to put it in perspective, there have been typhoons with a considerably larger circumference than the moon if that pic is accurate.

I think the size shown is the relative size of the image, not the size of the moon compared to earth.

I remember this pick from the "45 cool maps thread"

I'm sad that we won't have intergalactic travel and warfare in my life. Imagine owning a space ship and traveling. Jeez, this is depressing to think about.
