I wonder if the 49ers are going to have gold coloured endzones seeing as the logo and numerals are red?

Chiefs end zone is yellow; 49ers end zone is red.
So I just saw that we're sending Perisic out on loan for the rest of the season....I thought he was out for the season due to injury. :dunno:

I am going by my interactions with him and what other coaches say about him.

Coaches can say whatever they want about him. The matter of the fact is that he didn't produce. First couple of years were hard with COVID and then Ida. But these last 2 seasons have been bad. There was no emotion on the sideline...players and coaches. Nobody seemed to really care. The final game of the regular season at Terrebonne this season, they needed to win for a shot at getting in and keeping a 23-year consecutive playoff appearance streak going and nobody looked like they gave a shite.

They were slow to make adjustments in games, much of the time not changing things up until the 4th quarter. Game management was poor. They were routinely late getting plays into the QB, much of the time with less than 10 seconds on the play clock. And that happened in multiple years with different OCs. They lost games to teams they should have beat (Newman x2) and, ultimately, have been completely overshadowed by that team across the river. His record at Hahnville was 19-18 & 3-6 this past season, his best finish in district was 2nd place, they were 5th in 7-5A this season only finishing ahead of Central Lafourche (1-9) and HL Bourgeois (2-8), and he was 0-3 in the playoffs. That's just not good enough.

I know someone very close to the team. Luquet truly does care about the players - there's no question about that. He brought in some seniors after the season ended and asked for feedback about what could be done better, so he was looking to improve. Just the day before he resigned, the word was that he was going to replace the OC and DC. Then the news broke that he resigned. I've heard that school admins gave him the chance to resign on his own.

Whoever Hahnville hires, they need to be someone with a proven track record. They program gets plenty of support from the school system, school administration and fans....but they need to get back to winning.

But are the Blue Hens aware that they won’t be eligible for post-season play for a few years? Apparently other teams recently were not.

I don't know how Curtis did what they did to Karr. Maybe someone who watched that game can help you out.

Probably sign stealing….just a guess.

I do think NDSU beats ND in a rematch

Agreed. SDSU may be the only team in country capable of beating NDSU twice in a season.

I'm curious how deep they went on this hunt. Even Destrehan or Hahnville would have been a lot closer. Maybe Salt could have pulled some strings at HHS. LOL
Destrehan has a game on Friday. I doubt they would want to try and turnaround for a game the very next day.

Hahnville is trying to do what they can to forget about football season entirely after the season they had. No need to open that stadium up for another game for 2 other teams.

While I can see where you’re going with this argument, I think it ignores the fact that the VAST majority of those titles were won by a single school. That kind of dominance hasn’t ever been seen in FBS. But I still suspect that the top teams in FBS will win those first round games most of the time.

From what I gather, Nicholls did not bid to host the playoff game like we did a few years ago, which is why we are going on the road.

Sad if true. But I can believe it with the way the NCAA handles the bids and game revenues. I’d guess the LSU game being in BR on Saturday morning factored into that decision.

Colonels have the best chance at round 3 that they ever have

I’m going to sound like a homer, but we got fricked with having to travel in the first round. Nicholls are a conference champion, swept the conference, and have to go on the road to play a team with the same number of losses and finished SEVENTH in their conference standings. frick the committee.

I get that the Southland was mostly garbage this season and that the committee doesn’t respect it at all (hence UIW missing the playoffs), but a conference winner going to a 7th place team is stupid. SIU had a 3-point win over FBS Northern Illinois in the 2nd week of the season. The committee has always placed a high value in those games regardless of the quality of the FBS team, though. And SIU beat SEMO by a point in week 3. The Colonels blew their lead and lost a non-conference game to SEMO a few weeks back. I’m sure those are the justifications from the committee. But I still think we got hosed.

Had no idea they expanded from 16 to 24 teams

Yeah, it’s been 24 teams since 2013. Hasn’t mattered much with NDSU’s dominance, though.

North Dakota State is playing in the first round of the playoffs for the first time since 2010, their first appearance in the FCS playoffs (excluding the 2020 playoffs which were a smaller bracket and played in spring 2021).

FCS Playoffs Set

The NCAA released the FCS playoffs bracket yesterday for the 2023 Division I Football Championship. No surprise that the defending champions, South Dakota State, are the top seed in this year’s bracket. The Jackrabbits are riding a 25-game win streak and are unbeaten on the season.

National Seeds
1. South Dakota State
2. Montana
3. South Dakota
4. Idaho
5. Albany
6. Montana State
7. Furman
8. Villanova

The bracket is comprised of 10 automatic qualifiers and 14 at-large teams. At-large teams are selected by a committee which also sets the National seeds have first round byes. Three teams are making their first appearance in the playoffs: Drake, Mercer & North Carolina Central. First round games are this Saturday.

Conferences with Multiple Teams
• Missouri Valley Football Conference - 6
• Big Sky Conference - 4
• Colonial Athletic Association - 4
• Southern Conference - 3
