Lol you gonna fit all your beach shite in public transportation?

And how are you going to get around once you get there?

We'll get right on a study to see if a study needs to be done to address this. Thanks.

It should be an automatic one month ban for anyone who puts those two phrases together.

If this was any other part of the united states, the interstate would be 8 lanes.

You know there is traffic on holiday weekends on 8 lane interstates too, right?

the interstate was never intended for people to drive it daily to hit up Walmart for frozen dino nuggets and a two liter of dr thunder. Don’t even get me started on the folks that drive to and from work five days a week on I-10

Funny I rarely, if ever, have trouble driving that stretch, and I have driven it many many times.

But then again I intentionally drive it when the other 4,999,999 people are not also driving it.

Brownsville to Pensacola is considered a statistical "megaregion". If our interstates focused on statistical connections instead of east/west geography, you would see improved better flow between cities.

I drove it yesterday and agree. And it’s not just the tunnel. There was traffic the whole way from nw Florida though the 10/12 split.

And I agree, it’s worse on summer weekends but I’ve trivet through on random non-summer days and it’s fairly bad.

I couldn’t imagine being a resident in these areas. I guess it’s like when people in Nola leave for Mardi Gras. But it’s 1/3 of the year!

In what world is high speed rail in America affordable? Additionally, none of the cities along I-10 are walkable, so high speed rail would only reduce vehicular traffic on the interstate, as everywhere else would need cars.

Could have just gone to the Jourdan River Steamer and spent the $300 on crab legs.

That’s not a lot of people. Asheville to Charleston on I-26 is comparable and the roads are about the same. The countries infrastructure is lagging but you’re no worse off than your peers.

Imagine if we were able to get permission from Congress to form our own state and secede from the others we are currently a part of.

I've been taking my family to Orange Beach for the 4th of July for years.

You have to plan around the traffic.

This year we drove in on Sunday the 29th. Hit the tunnel about 1 pm and only slowed down approaching the Spanish Fort exit for a few minutes. Traffic leaving the beach was backed up from the tunnel to the Expressway/Bucees.

We came home on Saturday the 5th. Got in the truck about 9 am. Slowed down approaching the tunnel about where Ralph and Kacoo's is. Not bad at all. Slid right through BR about 1:30.

In other words, avoid arriving on Friday or Saturday and leaving the beach on Sunday.

I drive from Pensacola to Tallahassee regularly, and I can't even remember the last time I got into any kind of significant backup. It's a breeze 99% of the time.
