re: Doing a campus tour at UGA today

Just research reviews for the restaurants you see. We ate at some janky sushi joint…should have looked that one up. Everything else was good. Should have no problem finding something. You getting a golf cart tour of the campus?...

I don’t mind it one bit. The amount of discipline he’s about to have to show in college is going to be an order of magnitude more....

Son goes to a private MS school but he isn’t in that private conference. They are MHSAA or something. Hard to get good football players that are willing to go to an all-boys school run by brothers....

This hair cut guideline too strict?

I wish they’d make profit sharing payments based on your performance that year…not your NIL value like it looks like it’s going to be. Too speculative....

It’s just crazy now. My son is a ‘25 football recruit and between the covid year, unlimited transfer portal, NIL, ending walk-ons, and profit sharing things have changed so drastically just in the time he’s been in the sport…it’s impossible to guess what’s next. Hopefully they leave it all alone onc...

Those were the kids that REALLY loved the school too. They could have played a level lower or just at another school, they just loved the school enough to go put their head down and work for a couple-few years to earn a spot....
schools will be allowed to carry more than 105 up until week 1
Every single kid who stuck around until that point and didn’t make the 105 just missed a year of college football. That’s just crazy. I guess they don’t lose a year of eligibility…just a year....
Then make his arse run. Can’t just swap out someone because they’re polling poorly....

Depends what your dream is and how good you are. There’ll be fewer overall spots for specialists, which means much fewer spots for specialists out of high school. Good gig for the ones that do get them though....
going to be incredibly difficult to keep 105 scholarship players happy
IDK, seems like $100k/yr will be about the minimum each SEC player gets. The ones that want way more will shop around, but I assume at least half the team will be happier than pigs in shite with the money....

I was talking about PWO kickers, punters, and snappers. Almost all of the top 10 snappers and punters went PWO last year…many top kickers only get offered PWO as well....

105 man roster limit means all 105 are on scholarship…no one in the country will hold as many kickers as LSU has right now. Yes, they’ll all be scholarshiped…they’ll just be fewer. So two scholarship kickers, two punters…right when NIL was making it nice to be a walk on....

No football walk-ons in 2025

Posted by Gaston on 7/25/24 at 8:41 am
That’s going throw a ton of players into the portal. Specialist’s nightmare, as every school has walk ons in that room. The implications are immense too, you almost need a few developmental teams who can take your young talent and develop them to play in your system. ...
