o, everything at my regular home is paid for, for a year, and you give me $3K to live somewhere. frick, I'm gonna live at home and get my $3K for doing nothing. LIke you said, $3K isn't going to get me anywhere really luxurious so might as well stay home, live free, and have some reasonable fun for a year.

This is what I was thinking. I could fish, garden, throw dinner parties, binge watch Netflix, grill, read etc at home just fine......

I took the stipend just mean a free extra 3k on top of your living wage

So I’d go bartend a couple nights a week and live in some apartment close to a major night life spot like in New Orleans or Austin and then just kill it in partying and poon and never really have to sweat about cash

Or if you’re a real a-hole you go live in Alaska for a year and never go out and save the 3k a month for the entire year

frick that I already live in a low cost of living area and make 3x that amount as a single male.

I can’t imsgine 36k anywhere else being “better” especially when I can afford travel to anywhere I want a few times a year

Can I pick the Forest and just live in a cabin?

Thailand or Vietnam, because $3k a month is not very much money and would be tough to enjoy yourself in major cities in the Western world.

Why are people thinking this is their income?

I took the op as its an additional STIPEND added on

Nashville, Charleston, places like that seem like a good place to be

Spain would be great for international destinations

Just goes to show you what people think is a liveable wage. Either that or this is a middle schooler

I WONDER WHAT I COULD DO WITH THREE WHOLE THOUSAND DOLLARS A MONTH?!?

Thailand or Vietnam. Probably Thailand . That’s about 100,000 baht a month which would be a very comfortable lifestyle and is FAR more than the average Thai lives off of.

My brother lived in Leadville for a year, and Silverthorne for another. It was pretty awesome scenery there.

Yep in most of the world 36k is a lot of money. You could live very well and not work.

I mean 3k a month could get you into a major city, but no anything fancy. I'd probably just stay in NOLA. 1250 a month to rent a shotgun house, and 1750 to frick off.

Bangkok. It’s a huge city, plenty to do for cheap and I happen to still have friends there from when I lived there. So I’d crash on their couch.
