You're given a $3,000 a month tax free stipend to live anywhere in the world for one year. However, you can only live in that one place. For example, you can't pick Munich and then travel all through Europe for the year. You must stay in Munich. Also, that $3,000 is American dollars, so factor in the conversion rate. For example, your $3,000 a month would get you: 57,341 Pesos a month, 2326 Pounds, 2637 Euros, etc...

Your home life would stay exactly the same when you got back . For the purpose of this hypothetical, don't worry about your family, home, mortgage, job, etc...

Where would you go? Living somewhere in Europe, NYC, San Francisco, and so on wouldn't get you too much in terms of housing, food, and drink. However, it would still be incredible. You could live like a king in a third world country with that conversion rate...

So where would I live for $3000 a month rent? Is that the question?

I'm far from loaded, but why would I take a pay cut?

I would get some place in Chattanooga or Knoxville and enjoy beautiful green ridges, flowing streams, and the simple things in life

3k per month tax free is like 50k a year. I guess I'd live in ruston or some shite so I could afford to do anything with all my time

Then what's the fricking point? Anywhere would be fun for the first week or 2... but 12 months of being in a prime spot to travel and not being able to leave. Nah.

Exactly. You couldn't really live in a big city even when you take rent/mortgage out of it.

Yeah 2600 Euros isn't shite. So you'd be stuck in one place the entire time AND pretty much broke after expenses.

I'd probably live somewhere in one of the more remote parts of England that are absolutely beautiful.

Then, whenever London is calling, I could catch a train and be there in a few hours.

for $3,000 a month?

no fricking way you could afford these places.

I'd go to a Caribbean beach probably. Somewhere with a golf course nearby and cheap food and drinks

live on 36k a year?

I'd say somewhere in the east where it's beautiful, beaches, and the cost of living is cheap.

Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand

Prague is cheap and amazing.

If you doubled my money I'd pick Paris tho.
