I'd be a beach bum for a year in paradise.

That was my pick as well.

I would just stay at my house. All my shite's there, my friends and family are nearby, I can get damned near anything I want or need delivered and I have great internet.

COLORADO, within an hour of Denver/Boulder, not east though.

Or North Carolina side of Smokies.

Oh hell, I forgot about snow.

for $3,000 a month?

no fricking way you could afford these places.

Interesting. I have a friend who bar tends at a pub in NYC. I doubt he's making more than that a month. Yet, he loves living in the city. Sure, he shares an apartment with 3 other people, but he appears to be having a great time.

Switzerland is outrageously expensive, particularly for food. You might regret it.

So you're saying your friend can't afford it, just like the post you quoted said?

Mexico City.

Amazing food and a lot going on, and it's cheap as hell so you could go really far with $3k.

Wouldn't need much to sustain me with those surroundings.

I'd be really surprised if a bartender in New York was making less than 3k a month. Unless they only work 2 or 3 days a week.

I would require quality food and outdoor activities. Maybe somewhere in Thailand where you could actually afford a better lifestyle. I may just look at some place like Asheville that has a good beer scene and good mountain biking/hiking. Hunker down and just live a simple life.

I'd probably find some cabin to rent for the year in some small city in Alaska. Just take in the peace and scenery for a year, really relax. Eat lots of fresh fish. As long as the rent isn't too high, I know groceries and things are expensive up there.
