I think he meant it was like making $50K/year before taxes.

50k after taxes is like $3k a month is what he's saying. He's correct.

Did you miss the entire part about not being able to leave the spot you pick?

Definitely a beach in south east asia.

3k per month tax free is 36k per year. Fica is 7.65% plus federal and possible state income tax, let's call total tax burden 25%. Pretax that's 45k

Costa Rica.
I'd be a beach bum for a year in paradise.

So you're saying you live elsewhere and only have $3K/month to cover living expenses?
Posted on 1/17/19 at 10:10 am to LSUbase13
Cost of living in Spain is super cheap, I’d go there
Posted on 1/17/19 at 10:11 am to LSUbase13
I'd pass because I make more than that now and still feel broke.

I can work from anywhere, do I get my income on top of the $3000?
If not then I think I'll just keep doing what I'm doing.

Is $3000 a month suppose to be a lot of money??
You can’t live in any big city and do things on that pathetic amount of money.

Is this an option for you or are you just being hypothetical?

Honolulu, when i first moved there i think my rent was 800 to get a room in someone's house. So 2200 left a month to enjoy

Cozumel.
It would be a glorious year of scuba diving, drinking ice cold SOL, and eating great food. Would probably start some Tech diving training or maybe even complete Dive Master certification.
Damn...what a year this would be.

So where would I live for $3000 a month rent? Is that the question?
Comprehension, not your strong suit
Then explain it.
