DUNCAN, Okla. - A young Oklahoma girl was killed in a dog attack over the weekend.

Jason Dodge told KFOR he left his 3-year-old daughter, Rylee, at home with his mom.

He had only been gone about 20 minutes when he got the terrible phone call that Rylee had been mauled by a dog.

Dodge says he had just taken in the pit bull 5 days earlier from a friend and that there were no warning signs that the dog could be vicious.

He says his daughter opened up the front door to play with the dog and it attacked her.

Dodge says he came home to a bloody scene, his mom lying on top of the dog and his daughter lifeless.

Well, how else would a 3 year old little girl get killed but by a Pit Bull?

Round them up and exterminate all of them. These dogs can't be around a civilized society.

I'm a reasonable person who believes in freedom but something needs to be done with this breed. Maybe you should have to carry a 1M insurance policy and face jail time (3 years) if your dog attacks someone and causes a fatality or severe trama.

I do put the blame on 'thug' owners who are training these dog for violence.

I spent a week in Duncan. There is nothing going on there but a pizza hut and walmart.

Owning a pit bull -especially when you have kids- is akin to leaving a loaded weapon just lying around on the counter.

now why is it we never hear these stories about beagles or other breeds

that breed is like letting a terrorist in your home, they will be friendly and all smiles, even when they decide today is the day they will kill you

At this point, I'm just wondering how a pit bull ban would work out.

Would they just immediately round them all up or just ban production of the breed and grandfather in all the currently alive pit bulls, allow their owners to keep them and just wait for them to die out?

This is the only way. No way would rounding up work. Imagine if they did this for your guns. People love their dogs.

Not fair. You didn't really give me ample time to make a guess.

I realize how a dog is raised has a lot to do with his behavior but you can't convince me that pit bulls are not ticking time bombs in general.
