Relax. I’m not making a point. Just perspective that all dogs can bite and kill even, but pits are strong and if there is a point it’s that you need to have control over your dog, regardless of the breed, but especially pits most of all. I’ve had 2 shepherds and a dobbie amongst many other breeds, and I can tell you one thing, they’re powerful dogs as well, and obedience is a MUST.

Doesnt matter how many times this happens, everyone thinks their little pit is different. Never mind that these dogs aren't bred to be house pets.

Not sure anything will happen here, but holding owners liable in criminal court would be a nice start. Obviously you can't limit it to just pits, but it's a start.

The way to eradicate them is to require insurance. A lot of liability insurers won't insure a pit.

But some of the owners have no tangible assets. Same reason other people have no car insurance. Can't get blood out of a turnip school of stupid but applicable cliches.

I’m a dog person and won’t even allow my kids to go to a friends house with a pit bull. These things are terrorists with ticking bombs attached to them.
Makes me wonder how many attack’s there are that don’t result in death and doesn’t make it to the papers?

My mom had Yorkies for 25+ years. Last one died July 2016. In her distraught and emotional distress she decided to take in a pit bull that was stranded in the flood. The mutt is very disciplined and friendly but still scares the shite out of me and my siblings

Yea I can see all those owners in NOLA East lining up to buy insurance
No it’s going to be the 90 year old grandma with a chihuahua who ends up having a policy because we can’t discriminate only one breed
Hate to break it to you , but that’s not the way to eradicate them. That’s just another tax responsible people are going to pay. If you are responsible enough to go out and buy an insurance policy you are probably smart enough to know you shouldn’t have a pit bull

I can accept the risk of a dog bite but the risk of severe injury or death is way to high with a pit bull. No need to own one or expose my family to one.
