now why is it we never hear these stories about beagles or other breeds
It happens, just not nearly as frequently. Also, Pit Bulls are the AR15 of dogs. There are a lot of stories about Pits killing/harming kids when the dog doesn't even have pit in them.

Will the “parent” face charges?

I'm adopting a pit puppy from a rescue soon. Come at me

I have a German Shepherd, just as capable of mauling a 3 yr old kid. However, I tend to believe that I do not have a lot in common in terms of raising dogs with your typical Pit Bull owner.

Owning a pit bull -especially when you have kids- is akin to leaving a loaded weapon just lying around on the counter.

Before or after you get a neck tat?

Not sensational? I don’t know either, same for knife attacks on humans resulting in deaths to that of guns.
2017 fatalities by dogs
25 pits
6 German Shepherds
5 Mix breeds
2 Labradors
1 Mastiff-Great Dane mix
2 English Mastiffs
1 Boxer
1 Boerboel
1 Rottweiler
1 Husky- Shepherd mix
1 Giant Schnauzer
1 Akita
1 Doberman Pinscher
1 Queensland Heeler
Clearly Pits lead in fatalities, but they aren’t alone, and they also don’t lead in dog bites per year. The problem is they are extremely strong and when they do it can be bad.

Have they inspected your trailer yet?

Clearly Pits lead in fatalities,
Considering that pit bulls are (hopefully) 5% of the dog population, your stats really don't help you make your point. German Shepherds are no. 2 on the popular dog list and are used extensively in police and security work, yet have only 1/4 of the fatalities that pit bulls have.

Only 7 people in the U.S. have been killed by tigers since 1990, so I guess it is cool for everyone to have one now as a pet.
Why would anyone want a dog like this?
