that’s not an ‘accident’. Closer to murder

Mardi Gras weekend? Or football season. 2pm on Sunday would be prime time to be that shitfaced

Do we have the backwards signs to warn drivers if they're are going the wrong way on interstate exit ramp?

Do you realize how dumb you would have to be to not notice you are driving head on into traffic and still keep driving? Signs ain't fixing this problem.

Would it be a surprise if the driver was not one of those killed?

Based on the picture, I’d be amazed if the driver of the wrong way car wasn’t one of the fatalities.

I'm referring to the exit ramps that drunks AND the very elderly AND the very stupid will enter late at night when there is very little oncoming traffic.
They don't realize what they have done until it's too late.
Believe or not, "Dumb" people are issued drivers licenses
Yes, it appears insane to us but it keeps happening and it seems to be more frequent lately.
I travel quite a bit around the country and see these backwards warning signs but I don't remember seeing them around here?
I live not far from where the accident happened so I posted the question

that wouldn’t work because if you don’t know the English language how would you know you are going the wrong way

But anything is possible

Maybe an elderly (maybe dementia) driver enters interstate wrong way into oncoming traffic. I’ve seen it before.

Not necessarily. My dad died in the fall of 63 when I was 8 and my two sisters were 6 and 4. By the summer of 64 my mom had learned how to drive and decided to drive to the Smoky Mountains for a week out of town.

Long story short, she got off the interstate to get gas and when we started heading back out on the interstate she entered an exit and was driving northbound on the southbound lanes and wondering why cars were coming at us. When she finally realized what was happening she pulled off to the side of the road and broke down shaking like a leaf before she composed herself, turned around and got on the correct side of the road.

Dumb stuff just happens sometimes.
