Well, I'm being serious when I say it's not diverse. Like at all. It's so not diverse the mall here is thriving.

And I still don't think you can get liquor at SLC airport.

I was in Utah on business a few years ago. I was in the hotel bar and asked for a makers on the rocks, splash of water.
She barely even put whiskey in it, or at least what you typically get in a drink back home. I asked her if she could make it a double instead. She looked at me and said, 'you aren't familiar with Utah liquor laws are you?"

Washington,

Washington is fricking gorgeous and plenty of outdoor shite to do with all the parks.

The price of gas is out of control and cost of living is insane.

The winters do suck arse but the summers are unbeatable. I was in the Seattle metro last week and had a fricking blast.

I'd live there in the summer in a heartbeat. Washington is unquestionably better than Louisiana lmao.

Clown statement, bro.

I really don’t mind being ranked 50. Everybody can just stay away. I’m doing just fine where I am and I like where I live. I’m free to travel anywhere that I want to whenever I feel like it.

How is the quality of life being a non-mormon in Utah? Heard it's quite challenging to deal with from business to personal life and everything in between.

It's not. I mean if you want it to be, it can be. But if you focus on common ground as opposed to differences, it's not a problem. Pretty much all of our neighbors are LDS and we all get along great.

When will people wake up to the scam that is US News “rankings?”

US News is known to be at a slightly left-leaning publication, but even this ranking shows that 10 out of their top 15 states are under republican governorship, (7 of the top 10)

Not quibbling with the results. It’s just hilarious that their entire business is now ranking everything under the sun. They need to drop the “News” part. It’s all a big joke, and their rankings are meaningless.

The problem with Washington is not the outdoors or the seasons, but the people that live there.

Same issue with California. And Oregon.

But Utah doesn't have parades

They shut down the state for Pioneer Day every July.

Thanks UT for the random day off of work.

The problem Idaho has is that they have nothing else to offer besides mountains. Sure the crime is super low, but it’s still a pretty underwhelming state

Florida is only Southern state in top 10. Midwest is strong on this ranking

It's based on [#15 Air & Water Quality; #50 Pollution], not scenery. Which is also why Utah is so low.

Air & Water Quality and Pollution feel like 2 intrinsically linked stats, them being this far apart in ranking feels nonsensical.
