Norman 4 hours ago. People here panic at even an inch of snow predicted and this is way more snow than that. I think local weathermen get a 10% cut of sales above normal if they doom and gloom cast.

I was at Sam's tonight in Austin and they were all sold out of bottled water. We're right on the fringe of being impacted by this thing at all.
Thankfully they still had milk, eggs, and champagne.

Look, Im just giving an opinion on what Im seeing. I agree its quite complex, and people south of 20 could see big impacts. Shits hard. But I do think the Euro's northern trend over the last 24 hours makes sense.
Absolutely, and I’m not saying any of that to discredit you or anything you’ve said, as you clearly know what you’re talking about. I guess my point in all that was this is a system with such a tight transition zone for all these weather phases that is being impacted by tons of variables ranging to the Pacific Ocean, I just imagine a lot could change before Saturday/sunday, but also understand that is the data we are working with. Will certainly be an interesting system to follow.

I just checked Wonderground.com weather and it shows about 17" of total accumulations. I live about 10 miles NE of Gravette. The low on Monday is forecast to be -6. I need to move back to South Louisiana.

Like a horrible place to live.
But you were probably asking about the snow.

These threads always slow down when only the 10 midwesterners get impacted and Louisiana is out the doomsday cone

watching the weather channel they’re still pumping ice for Dallas and most of North Texas but it doesn’t look anything like the models I’m seeing on these links that have been updated within the last eight hours…

allowing Oklahoma into the SEC was a mistake

Little Rock and southern Arkansas about to get rocked with ice followed by 6-10 of snow. I pray that ice line moves back down because that will be a nightmare. I am also trying to figure out if my new home’s tankless water heater is run by electric or gas.
This is the OT, I know, but I know we got some praying types around here. If you’re one of those and reading this, please take a moment and pray for everyone in the ice zones, please. That power somehow remains and that the elderly, animals and children are protected from the brutal cold. ETA: also pray for first responders and medical folks who will undoubtedly be working this and responding to emergencies in these conditions.

Pretty much all models are in agreement on ice along the I-20 corridor and north.
It’s just a matter of exactly where the freeze line ends up and it’s hard to predict how far south the shallow cold air goes. But if you’re along I-20 and north it looks to be a guarantee to see at least some ice

I live 10 miles west of Guthrie. I'm planning on making a trip to the Walmart there an hour or so from now. I'm good on bread and water, but need a few other things. Planning to grill steak tonight in the cold before the precipitation starts.

If it is gas it will still have an electric igniter. No power, no hot water without a generator or truck powered inverter.

Even the gas tankless water heaters require electricity to run.
