I’m not gonna haggle over semantics. The QB got drilled and the ball went ten yards behind him, there’s no world where that isn’t a live ball/turnover

And note, they stopped the clock after a Saints offensive play in OT, when the defensive player stayed down after missing an open field tackle. Didn't tag Detroit with a timeout on that.

So this means there’s no such thing as a sack fumble anymore. The second you cock back to throw, incomplete.

This. I was pissed. If thats the excuse then they can never call a fumble. The rule USED to be if THE ARM WAS GOING FORWARD…you have to start your throwing motion, which starts with pulling the arm back, to start the motion. So basically the only qb fumble can be it getting knocked out with it by there side. Bs. We got hosed

The Saints as a franchise get too many of these type of controversial calls go against them.

I get the call was accurate based off the rule, but that’s a dumb rule… they don’t want the defender to dictate if the pass is forward or backwards, but why? It’s a ball security/awareness issue by the QB, why would you reward him by saying it doesn’t matter what direction he’s throwing the ball, it’s automatically incomplete?

So a QB intentionally throws backwards to keep from getting sacked while defender tackling him and that's not a lateral. Doesn't make sense at all

35 years of watching football, seeing that happen I don’t even know how many times, but several……… and it’s never been ruled like that. fricking insane, but we’re going to keep it watching even after the Nola no call so we deserve it.

How come intentional grounding wasn’t called he was in the pocket. It didn’t go past a lot of scrimmage and no one was there..

Someday you people are going to realize the NFL nothing more than the SEC on steroids. The rules are written in such a convoluted and vague way so that they can twist and manipulate the interruption at any moment to suit their purposes
