Selling the picks wouldn't count towards the money going in/coming out though. Cash considerations don't count towards the salary cap.

Everyone has already updated their trade machine, so it makes it harder to work something out.

In the end I think one of Frank or Kenrich is signed to a 3/16 and sent out as salary filler.

Why did Shamit write a 50 page dissertation if it were as simple as that

I for one am excited about moving Lonzo.
I like the idea of Huerter coming back and Lonzo going to Charlotte. I’d love to get back PJ Washington from Charlotte too.

Bledsoe
Ingram
Huerter
Zion
Adams
I like that.
Still need a true SF defender.

I think it’s fairly clear that they are waiting on another deal to occur before completing this one, but it’s up in the air as to why. The Melli/Baynes thing makes more sense to me than the Lonzo theory, but I also don’t know how extension convos have gone with Griff and Rich (obviously).

Y'all are making it way more complicated than it needs to be.

And if anyone thinks we'd trade Ball just because and not get something worthwhile back, that's just crazy knee jerk shite.

And the whole Ball to Charlotte thing because "brothers" is so fricking far fetched.

I doubt they went through all this talk to discuss making this work to come out at the end and say we fricked up not accounting for this. They have a plan. It'll get done.

The silence on it while other teams fill up their roster and the Pelicans remain the only team to not make a single free agent signing is going to lead to some wild speculation among fans and some serious questioning.

They need to either get this done or get it leaked as to what’s going on.

One thing I have noticed about the Griff admin is they take secrecy to extreme levels and that has led to some PR issues with fans (Zion injury, etc).

Bc Sham only knows what Sham knows. There seems to be a ton of scenarios possible if another team is added and the Ball brothers teaming up is an interesting angle. Sham is trying to get clicks as well as put info out there. Since there is no info now then he is coming up with his own theories.

We’re giving OKC a 1st and 2 good 2nds. I don’t see why that’s not enough payment for them to take Frank on a 3/$16 with 2 fake years. And if it isn’t, add another the 2nd. That seems way less disruptive than jumping through hoops to trade Lonzo.

I will say this, if we trade Lonzo to fit in Adams AND we don’t get a good return on Lonzo like we’d expect if we traded him independently, this will basically be the new Tyreke signing where you blew too much up for a player that wasn’t worth all the collateral damage.

We’ll see what actually happens. Maybe we’ll get 2 1sts and a swap from Charlotte that we flip part of for our starting 3 & D wing, but what Shamit speculated is troubling because I feel like we’ve seen it before.

I am confident Griff had a plan going in it’s just complicated and some mechanics need to take place. But this is very frustrating as a fan.

We’ve seen it before with Griffin or “Hornecans”? IMO that is a big difference.

We are already giving them a late first for a player they want to move but have been unsuccessful.

Call them up and tell them to take the deal or it’s off. You think they are gonna walk away over taking a 1yr flyer on a guy while they are in full blown up mode?

Sure, we will still have a hole at C but we can flip Hill ourselves and get decent compensation.

We have no money to go after free agents. And it doesn't seem we are hell bent on using the exceptions.

A ton of pretty good players signed for the MLE this year.

Yeah but that costs real world money, regardless of the cap. Not exactly like the tickets have been selling out around here

Where did you see anything saying they wanted to move him? He was on his last year anyway. And any money they sent out with him they had to take back.

So that line of thinking doesn't add up.

The Charlotte thing isn't happening. That was just one guy with a TERRIBLE take on the situation.
