I am confident Griff had a plan going in
I am too, we got more return than expected for Jrue with a pick cache plus Bledsoe and Hill, and then it became Bledsoe and Adams, even better. But I don't think a S&T of Frank would be holding things up, we have to be waiting on other teams and maybe a further expansion of this trade.
I do wonder if we don't have a Lonzo trade lined up. Atlanta signed Dunn, Rondo and Gallinari. That makes them very wing heavy.

Griff had a plan for the Bucks part of the trade, but the OKC part seems pretty rushed to me. Reeks of impulse/opportunistic buy. Very risky with the stakes the way they are.
He got bent over not being able to keep Hill over Bledsoe (eliminating the salaries problem) and he got bent over overpaying.

No they can't use RJ's salary because that would count as outgoing from the Bucks. Would have make it a separate move where the Pels got 24 for 60 or something. THEN sign RJ THEN include him. Get's way too messy and delays things in a rushed training camp.

What's the inside word Kumar?

Why do I need clicks on twitter? Everything I write there or on BSS is for free. I do this for fun.

Rushed? They had 7 teams involved at one point. This was very planned out. If you think this was just something that happened overnight then you don't get how trade talks work.
Also, Bledsoe is the far better, younger player, and I don't see the salaries problem. They have a plan and it'll be revealed when they announce the finalized version.

Is being completely inactive so far in FA signings a product of being so invested in this mega trade or is it by design?

It's not a take. It's me having late night fun. The meat of the info is before the Charlotte trade. THAT is the point people are missing.
It's either
1) Stay above the cap, use Frank or Ken for salaries to make it work
2) Use room if one of those guys ain't playing, and you need to use Zylan or Grey.
Those are their options. I was simply having fun on twitter by sending Ball to Charlotte. There are a million ways they can make room. shite, they can stretch and waive a guy if they wanted.
This is all assuming they aren't adding any other players to this already bloated deal. Which would be stupid unless they are getting great return and they aren't stupid.

We had no cap to spend trade or not. And the exceptions still cost actual real world millions that we don't seem eager to spend, especially considering the long standing difficulties we've had selling tickets here.

I doubt Adams became available until they acquired Horford on the 18th. Doesn't leave much time

I'm not so sure. Reports have come out that he's been trying to get Adams since OKC traded Paul George and Russ last year. I also can't imagine that what's stopping this deal from happening is Frank Jackson making $6 million this season, that's something Presti and Griffin haggle over and hammer out with changing the pick part of the equation.
Especially when you combine the trade delay, with us being connected to no FA names other than Baynes, and the Pels going into the season with Lonzo as the starting 3&D SF, I really feel like there's another move lined up, but it makes sense to combine it with the Jrue trade. So we are waiting on other teams like Charlotte and/or Atlanta.

I got that the main info was before the Ball thing, but that was the garbage part people here starting harping on (ignoring all the other stuff).
So yes I called that part what it was. A terrible take. The rest is fine speculation.

Thought they might zero in on defensive wings going at the minimum since it hits 2 boxes

So, I have a question (although this may have been covered earlier). With the way the current deal is now, what cap space will the Pels have to sign a FA? I’m not talking about if you include the “what if Ball is traded scenarios”.
Posted on 11/22/20 at 9:28 am to LtKumar
so to be clear it’s 2.2MM or thereabouts that the pels need to send out to balance salaries correct? I can’t imagine frank or kenrich not playing along with that even if they have to sign 2/3 yrs. they’ll be right back on the market next season regardless
Maybe get PHX involved, demps loves him some frank jackson
in any event I seriously doubt that if all the other teams were ready to consummate that there will be any issue on the pels side. Griffin and Langdon can do basic math

The trade doesn't really affect the cap since incoming and outgoing needs to be roughly (not exactly) equivalent.
So we had a minimal amount before (about $2 mil I read in some places), and that hasn't changed.

It's not because of cheapness they are waiting to use the exceptions, it's because the trade will tell you if you really have them or not.
If they are planning on being a cap room team - they have no MLE which would explain why they have been sitting out.
IF they are planning on being an over the cap team, they have the MLE, but only about 7ish million until they hit the tax. No BAE, unless that is all they use.
So they are sitting out because things are incomplete.

Lonzo as the starting 3&D SF
Where the frick did this come from? I've seen it a few times now.. Ingram is the starting SF. He's not quick enough laterally to cover SGs so he isn't being moved there. Adams is the center and Zion the PF.
So if Ball is switching positions it would be to SG.
