Be patient. You won't think that after you finish the season.

That's what I picked up from skimming the thread.

The other thing I've enjoyed is the statement it makes about veterans and how it's incorporated that theme throughout. Other than the exchange about justice between Matt and Frank in season 2 of DD, I don't feel like the Marvel Netflix shows tackle tougher issues. They've done a nice job examining a real issue without being too preachy.

Let's just say that the way "Jigsaw" is born is so much more horrifying than in the comics.

Current 61% for critics.
Current 94% for fans.

I am not sure the last time I have seen such a huge disparity between the 2 on RT.

I wonder if there is a higher ratio of female critics compared to female viewers? I know I didn't even bother suggesting my wife watch it because I don't think it's something she'd like.

Either that or too many SJW critics nowadays probably not happy with the gun issues so close to Vegas

I enjoyed the series thoroughly and glad they left it open for a second. Castle's war cry kept reminding me of Pulp Fiction when Butch wakes up before his boxing match and starts yelling on the way to the ring.

I would say critics don't understand it, unless they were a Punisher fan first. I found the whole show comic book like, in a good way. I felt as if the explosions and gunshots were reflective of a comic book panel with the moment of explosion or wound.

The adapters succeeded in being faithful to the comic without the characters being one-note, all I really wanted as a fan.

It’s funny how they make sure to have no nudity (besides that one arse shot) and censor “frick” yet this show is very violently brutal (which I like).

I will say that I wasn't sure what I was supposed to feel when Frank was getting tortured by Agent Orange and him seeing himself having sex with his wife. That threw me a bit.

What do you mean? Have you seen gladiator before, it was clearly showing how close Frank was to death

That was one of the best series I have seen. So many layers, twist, every person was interesting

Even Lewis was perfect bc your were supposed to hate him

First time I really enjoyed the filler episodes

I could go on and on.

Finished last night. As much as I liked Daredevil, this might be my favorite Marvel Netflix show and one of my favorite shows of all time. I thought the last 3 episodes were just fantastic. A lot of nuance, great characters and interactions.

I don't see the negative reviews, even if you don't like the violence. It has a place.

Loved...SPOILERS....

The Frank/Russo fight and end of that. Jigsaw will be a great villain moving forward. He's primed to go completely nutso, and I love that.

Total A+ from me and I'm looking forward to S2 more than any other show out there. Bernthal is just so perfect for Frank Castle.

That's all I have left to watch. Can't wait. So far I thought it has been great.

Most of the negative reviews I've seen, I mostly disagree with. One being that it's too boring and that they try to show too much of Frank's "human side." Well, he's not a damn robot. I don't find they show him ever being overly emotional or anything. When it comes to handling his business, there is no hesitation. He's cold blooded. No remorse.

The other common negative review I've seen was that it's another liberal Hollywood production trying to push an agenda. Anti white, anti Christian, anti gun, etc. These people are nuts. I don't see any of that. Sure, they inject some politics in the show. But I don't feel like the lend any weight to either side. Nowhere in the show did I feel they were pushing a certain viewpoint.

I'm going to binge the final 3 episodes tonight!

Some of the reviews are talking about how Netflix is “humanizing another white mass murder”. fricking idiots.

It’s also clear that a large number of these very negative reviews (almost entirely from “critics”) have no idea about what The Punisher is about. Some are complaining about how’s he’s not super hero and the show being too brutal.

Hard for me to get Shane out of my head.

However, anyone think his acting in this resembles Rick?

It was clear that it was Frank being close to death but I also could see the interpretation that Frank was going to his special place so he doesn't feel the pain of whats happening. Similar to Happy Gilmore finding his happy place before putting or even us as people reminding ourselves of something/someone that pulls us out of our pain (mental or physical). That is his 'super power' in a way, his will to continue through pain

ETA: Yeah the avoidance of nudity just to avoid it but still show a sex scene was apparent
