Actually, Tenet is great. Dunkirk is his most overrated film by far.

Dunkirk was beautifully shot. He tinkered with the timeline, per the usual, on what was a pretty straightforward story and the result was unexciting.

Why is it so dark? I miss movies with bright colors.
Almost no production companies use hard lighting anymore. Everything is digitally shot with soft lighting which results in the super clean, shadowless resolution that nearly every major film has today.

I absolutely hate the look of today’s movies. There’s no variation in color grading and everything has a grain-less, super clean look. It just makes them unwatchable.
I’ll die on a hill with the belief that cinematography and aesthetics are the two most important elements of movies, arguably more so than acting. With cinematography, the audience is shown a world-perspective through camera lens.

I watched the Godfather again with my dad a few weeks ago and we were just laughing at how different it would be if it were made today. It had some incredibly dark scenes (dark as in lighting, not content) that were just dripping with atmosphere. Go rewatch the hospital scenes and see how prominent the shadows are

Elliot Page plays Achilles.... this ruins the film immediately.

Brando was always in shadows. A Touch of Evil would really suffer under todays lighting too.

The casting seems to have been done by the same people that cast the marvel movies.
And the acting choices are pretty aburd. It's as if they wanted to make something like a historical or period piece, but then said, "nah we need teenage girls to watch it, who is available from Euphoria and Marvel?"

Terrible choice to use 'daddy' and 'dad' instead of 'father'.
Meh.
Meh.

Christopher Nolan chose Emily Wilson's 2017 translation of Homer's Odyssey as the sole source for his upcoming film, a version critics called radical for stripping away traditional embellishments in favor of modern language, including words like "daddy," "playtime is over," "canapés," "pep talk," and "tote bag."
Wilson told The New Yorker in 2023 that Homer "didn't sound archaic to the Greeks."

Well, its a 3,000 year old Greek poem. I wouldn't go in expecting the Da Vinci Code or whatever.

I was looking forward to this movie, but a black Helen and Ellen/Elliot Page playing Achilles has ruined my interest. I’m out.

You dont expect the other worldwide translated versions to have accents?
Should the mandarin version have a British accent?
Good lord. What a shitty take.

If theses are indeed true then stunt casting has been taken to the absurd. I do think that the Helen actress is attractive, but having her be Greek is just silly. But page as Achilles would be so ludicrous that it would be hard to take this even remotely seriously.

Are posters on here really trying to sell this idea that this black chick is attractive?

There have been numerous who have said she’s a good looking woman. It’s insane
