This isn't purely logical, but usually the trailers are some of the best, most enticing stuff to get you excited. If that trailer is comprised of that sort of content, it's a terrible sign.
Maybe creating shitty trailers to kill buzz is his new meta-level subversion, like the Tenet audio mixing of pre-release hype. Who knows.
And I'm no Nolan hater. I like most of his work and really like a good portion of it.

Nolan is about to be 1/4 on movies since 2014. Has any other director fallen off as hard as he has?
Dunkirk overrated, Tenet absolute garbaj, and Odyssey looks like absolute garbaj. I’m surprised Denzel’s son wasn’t cast as Odysseus now that I think about it.
