Why do you feel you have to be dishonest about everything?

So you can’t answer and I’m left to deduce that you do it because you’re either too stupid to make arguments or you know you have no argument so you lie and smear.

Ahh yes because 17 pages of shite talking the movie and 5 different threads of people rioting over casting rumors as just two people.
Only like 2 people saying it will flop

Which is what you said

Many people complaining about casting, will still watch and probably enjoy the movie

And it won't be hypocritical of them to do so.

I still hate Juliette Lewis in Natural Born Killers as one of the most miscast roles ever. . .absolutely love the film.

I think this chick isn't pretty enough for Helen. . .irrespective of skin tone. Still going to watch it, will probably still like it

From the trailers, I am already hating Tom Holland's butchering. :yak:

The best example of this is Arwen in Fellowship. Her vs the Nazgul was in most of their promotional stuff and trailers and fans were furious that she replaced Glorfindel who was a beloved and very looming character across ages in the books. But once you saw the movie and how she tied in to the whole thing, especially Aragorn, it made sense. People like that poster have no room for nuanced discussions or discussions of any kind because they’re shills. To reference Tolkien, he’s an Orc, created for one purpose, attack anyone who questions the big brand.

One poster said it’s tracking at $160mil so to gauge the enthusiasm for this movie that would rank it 3rd among Nolan’s movies for their opening weekends based on inflation.
Look, man. . .this is a reach just to rain on a movie's parade

The 2 that would top it are 2 & 3 of a MAJOR franchise for a INSANELY popular character

being 3rd behind 2 of the 3 DK trilogy entries is a hell of an accomplishment

This movie is going to do really well. And it is probably going to be really good.

We can point out missteps, and that is fine. . .but you are gloom and dooming a film by a guy with a batting average of. . .well, Christopher fricking Nolan.

I went over to box office theory. The gurus over there track sales daily. Presales are off to an incredible start. Unless it turns out to be a bad film like Tenet was, this thing is going to be massive.

And we'll never know how well Tenet would have done

The theatrical release situation was, shall we say, less than ideal?

Not the best film, but I think it does way better had it released a year earlier

Oh, it would have done quite well if not for Covid. I just think it's a pretty bad film. Arguably his worst.

You misunderstood and maybe I should’ve led with the point about his movies picking up steam first. Judging hype for the movie it looks like it’ll be 3rd for opening weekend behind, like you said, two big franchise releases but well ahead of Oppenheimer. I didn’t mean that as a knock I’m saying that $160 now isn’t $160 in 2012 so to compare it 1 for 1 vs DKR isn’t accurate or fair.

I saw one promo poster with the tagline “Defy the gods”

If you want anymore reasons to believe they have no idea how to adapt this- there it is

How so? Do you remember the Odyssey as a story about doing exactly what the gods want?

And it's a marketing tagline, not the script.
