And now we will have a WOKE She Hulk by Marvel.

Did I miss something? What has been reported to signify this is a WOKE series? I haven't seen much yet about the details, so I would like to be caught up.

Okay. Let's settle down.

I don't post on here too often, but I get the feeling their have been many people with similar criticisms on the MTV board.

The issue with many of these franchises is that they had previously established fambases who like the series as it was. Then Hollywood decided to inject politics that nobody asked for and that created division amoungst fans.

This could have been solved with creating new IPs. However, Hollywood obviously wants to be risk averse and cash in on old fanbases. They also know that new IPs would probably fail because the politics can't stand on its own.

I'm not that upset by it. But it is noticeable once you learn all the signs and the media tells you exactly what it it. It does have a splash effect as all these shows produced by different studios are trying to cater to a leftist audience.

This leads me to believe that leftist consume more media on average.

Any social themed stuff...if they were hitched to a better movie, there wouldn't be an issue, IMO. I just can't see how people would be excited. I didn't hate it, but it was pretty blah.

this

the last thing that was any good Terminator related was the TV show that probably should have been on FX instead of Fox and was canceled over 10 years ago.

It's also a bunch old Hollywood studio execs trying to figure out how to pander to millennials and minority audiences that are rising in spending power. It's a business, run by people who live in a bubble and place too much weight in what they see on Twitter.

But just having female and minority characters isn't by itself "woke." Nearly 90% of the country is urbanized and live in places where you see blacks and other minorities everywhere every day, regardless of whatever percentage they supposedly make up nationally. So it's not shocking to most people to see them in mainstream films now.

I haven't started the newest season yet, but I can tell you that Doctor Who has been telling stories with what would now be considered "Woke" themes since 1966. That tells me your problem is with the female doctor, not the stories themselves.

Having watched most of the entire series, I can say that the "wokeness" has been ratcheted up to the point where it is nearly impossible to enjoy.

It is way too much in your face as of late, as opposed to where such themes were subtly used before the last few seasons.

When Steven Moffat left, things took a decided turn for the worse.

For the record, I like Jodie Whittaker just fine. It is the writing that is awful. One of the episodes this season got the worst rating of all time from the Dr. Who viewers.

I hate SJW crap but I’m not sure if that’s why these movies failed.

He probably has no idea that She-Hulk is a charter that turned 40 years old this month and was created purely b/c Marvel was worried Universal TV was going to create their own She-Hulk for the Incredible Hulk tv series that they would not own the rights to (which is funny and considering the way Universal refuses to part with the Hulk movie rights).

Uh, how were studios supposed to make new IP's out of Terminator or Dark Phoenix?

I laugh at thinking that someone would try to make a new IP out of killer machines from the future that terminate people.

I won't refute anything you're saying about this current season, but last season felt very much like a return to The Russell Davies era. Davies wielded themes like a sledgehammer, while every so often creating truly emotionally affecting episodes of television. So I agree that that's a downhill turn from Moffat, but I loved the whole Moffat run more than would be considered healthy (while conceding that there were missteps, like Lara's characterization).

Chibnall don't have anything particularly woke last season. I think the Pakistan episode would be the closest example of something even leaning toward that end of the social spectrum. I'll start this season this weekend and see if I concur that it's gone duran further.

And worst ratings of all time from the Dr. Who viewers is BS. The lows I've seen from the original series in the late 70s and 80s are not possible to achieve with modern television quality standards. Short memories compounded with angry social media is more like it.

The "wokeness" on New Lady Who probably stands out more because they've slowed down the dialogue and action enough to make sure a 5-year old Hellen Keller could follow along and understand the message.

Donald Trump and the giant spider hotel?
Lecturing King James about his bigotry and then laughing when he asks Ryan to stay?

I'm only up to ep. 5 this season, and it started off with a lot of promise for the new Master. But last season was a pedantic slog.

Didn't he specifically say he hated Donald Trump?

But geez... let's go back and make sure that Rosa Parks gets her seat on the bus.

It's like Chris Chibnall is trying his hardest to kill the series. Heck, give it back to Mark Gatiss.

It's really weird. We never had this discussion years ago. Now if there is a female or minority lead apparently it's because of Wokeness. Bunch a snowflakes.on the right these days getting triggered about movies.

There are some spoilers in this article, so you may not want to read it if you haven't watched season 11, but according to viewers, the last two seasons own the worst 5 out of the worst 10 ranked episodes of Dr. Who. I did not find data for season 12 rankings yet but viewers opinions on reddit aren't looking good.

Again, these are determined by the viewers opinions according to IMBD. LINK /
