They need get over this cinematic universe and just focus on making good films. Who cares about having everything be connected.

I’ve gotten about 10 minutes into it, and Mike seems to think it’s so bad it’s good. So far they don’t hate it near as much as MoS and BvS.

I think it might be my favorite DC movie yet. I would go so far as to say I liked it better than Marvel's Avengers 1. The cast all have great chemistry together and it was a good mix of humor and action.

The villain wasn't great, but by DC standards, it's the best they've put out thus far.

No reason why you shouldn't have fun with this movie.

I would not advocate for you to not to see it like I would for most earlier DC efforts. I really don’t hate it at all.

I wouldnt put it on the level of the first Avengers or Winter Soldier, but to me, its easily better than Ultron, Civil War, and Guardians 2.

I’d say better than Ultron, but not the other two. Ultron was nothing but false promises. Really hope the cliffhanger of IW Part 1 is reawakening of Ultron and then he wipes out a major city.

I am the biggest DC fan out there and have literally been waiting for a Justice League movie my whole life.

Its just mind boggling that they can't produce a better movie with these iconic characters.

The more and more I think about this movie, the more and more it hurts.

After all of the polarizing shite that Snyder did, they still gave him this movie. They didn't like what he was able to do (surprise, surprise) so they brought in Whedon to change up something that was already finished. He did OK, but there's only so much he could do with a finished product.

The movie is serviceable and I liked it, but we deserved better than a reshuffled studio reject. It's upsetting.

Now it looks like the movie may lose money and jeopardize DC's future. I'm fricking pissed about all of this.

Which is a shame Bc it’s so much better than Suicide Squad and BvS. Yes DC messed up by hurrying into JL rather than a slow build like Marvel did, but it’s still far from being terrible. And I left the theater excited about seeing more DC movies. Which is not how i felt after Suicide Squad.

The wheels were already in motion before the BvS debacle. WB was kind of stuck. I do think they'll be fine moving forward. I like the directors they've brought in for future films.

Better to replace him in pre production rather than post production. Make up an excuse then and bring in Whedon. Too little too late...

So Mike recommended it, while Jay and Rich did not. And I’m with Mike and this overall is my mentality with pretty much bad movies:

quote:

I judge movies on whether or not I’m miserable.

And I’m with him here. I enjoyed the movie and recommend it to people despite its stupid scenes and parts I didn’t care for.

DC finally doesn't have a movie that's complete arse and people are so surprised by it that it's on The Avengers level

That being said I'm going tomorrow night and I'm excited. I like that most of the general audience seems to like it. The audience score on RT counts too. Frick the critics

Suicide Squad was the lowest point, there was nowhere to go but up.

No way. It’s definitely a step in the right direction though. You can see the influence Whedon had on this movie. Miller as the Flash was great, and I still really love Afflecks take on Batman. Gadot has really come into the role as Wonder Woman. Also Elfmans score was really good and I enjoyed the throwback themes for Batman and Superman. Aquaman was solid.

What I didn’t like.
- there was absolutely no weight placed on Superman’s death and resurrection. None.
- Steppenwolf was a lame villain and shouldn’t have been. The CG wasn’t good. At all.
- Cyborg was basically used as a Deus Ex Machina for the story.
- There really wasn’t any weight placed on the story. I never felt like there was any chance they were going to lose. That’s what made the first Avengers movie so good and Ultron so disappointing. This is the ultimate superhero team up. The all star game. And really once Superman shows up he fixes everything and then Steppenwolf is killed by his own minions. End story.

So I enjoyed it though, much more than BvS. I’m very much looking forward to the Flash standalone and really hope Affleck sticks it out for the Batman movie. Batman will probably always be my favorite comic book character and I’m enjoying the more experienced grizzled version.
