I wouldn't suggest for anyone to watch Jupiter Ascending. Even if it means that I'll win an argument.

BvS is not as bad as Jupiter Ascending, for example.

I have not seen Jupiter Ascending, so you may be right. I just took everyone’s word for it.

I’m also pretty confident that Jack and Jill is worse since at least BvS cast some parts well and there are some iconic shots, which is the only thing Zack Snyder knows how to do well.

BvS should have been in single digit percentage on the T-Meter. With one or two exceptions, I think it's easily the worst movie of the decade so far that I've seen.

So you didn't see Iron Man 3?

There’s nothing anywhere near as bad in that movie as Eisenberg being Lex Luthor.

I don't know. The Mandarin turning out to be a drunken British pussy actor with no power is a tough call for me. It's right up there with Eisenburg. It's the direct Marvel Equivalent. It might not be worse but it's damn close to even. The scene when you think you're going to see a confrontation and you get a guy crying "i'm just an actor" is as bad as the red coats are coming or fight night in my opinion.

Can you really say this isnt as bad as Eisenberg? This was there Mandarin:

Also, the hero of the movie being a melting radioactive Pepper Pots while IronMan didn't appear in the movie at all with the exception of two throw away scenes, one where the suit breaks and the other where all the mechanical suits break, is pretty bad.

I completely agree. That movie is awful.

I know I made this thread already, but I always thought Suicide Squad was worse.

Then I remember the "MARTHA!!" scene and I just cringe all over again.

What a mess.

I've been told that if you purchase the DVD of a different Marvel hero's movie, that you can go to the Extras area and find a short film that explains away the bad Mandarin storyline.

But I'm not buying a DVD to a separate film just to explain why I should've enjoyed the other film.

It's difficult for me to rank the DCEU films other than Wonder Woman, because I enjoyed the other three for their pieces more than the whole.

MoS had the best villain, but BvS had Wonder Woman and the holy trinity on screen.

I tried re watching BvS on HBO recently to see if I’ve just been overly harsh but it’s actually just gotten worse. Just such a mess

I’d still rank it ahead of Last Stand, Spider Man 3, IM3. Suicide Squad....if only for the fight scene and Batman at the warehouse.

I don't understand how Man of Steel is rotten if the majority of critics gave it a positive review

Think you need at least 60% to be certified fresh with the way their rating system works because it is simply how many good reviews vs bad ones. Metacritic acutally is better because it does a composite score

I said I was worried about the RT scores on this one. It looks like I was right. Unfortunately.

I think this was a case of the studio realizing we have a complete turd of a movie on our hands and not making their saving throw. They tried to parachute Joss Whedon in to save things but, despite what the Mythbusters say, you just can't polish a turd.

Whedon wants to make a Batgirl movie. This will probably make just enough bank to justify that.

DC slowly, and perhaps not surely given how bad the WB is at handling their superhero properties, moves on from this.

Zach Snyder's vision of Superman as a gigantic a-hole, to the point where Batman seems reasonable, fades away slightly.

I'm going to see it in an hour. I'll post my review tonight.

Expectations going in:

A mess of a story.

Forced jokes.

Scenes that look out of place because of reshoots.

But all in all, I expect to have some fun. I'm hearing that Superman is back on track, which is exciting. And there are some nostalgic moments with him and Batman. I'm actually excited despite the bad reviews.

I hope it is a fun mess. I mean, yeah it won't be great but if it is entertaining and convinces DC/WB to not double down on grimdark everything sucks... then that is awesome.

There are some great stories to tell in that universe.
