With The Last Jedi coming out soon, figured I would post this. Good video and he does an incredibly good job of explaining why most of the critiques to the movie are dumb... while also presenting things that were a little weak in the movie.

Enjoy

I didn't love it, but I liked it. I think it was a good set up for The Last Jedi. Hopefully, The Last Jedi improves upon TFA.

There was no backlash remotely like the prequels for TFA. Seems like clickbait to me.

this thread from May of this year, on Tigerdroppings is proof of the "revisonary history" the video in the OP is talking about

TFA is fine. Rogue One is hot garbage.

I never did get all of the hate. It was no Empire or Hope, but It's right there with Jedi/Revenge.

TFA was awesome and those that don't like it are just mad it isn't the original trilogy.

Yeah, it's very similar to ANH but it was necessary to start the movies up for a new generation.

Movie sucks as is — has a chance for greatness depending on where the story goes with TLJ

i thought it was just fine, but then again overall I like the first 6 movies as weell, and I liked ROgue One. None of them were/are perfect movies but.

My dilemma is that I hate Disney and everything they stand for at this point, and I haven't been to a new movie all year because I'm just disgusted with Hollywood in general, but I'll probably have to cave and go see Last Jedi just because come on, it's Star Wars.

I loved the Force Awakens.

Finn kind of got on my nerves at times but it's a solid entry. It's no Empire or A New Hope but it's right behind them in the ROTJ and Revenge tier

I'm not gonna lie. I went into that video with serious doubt. By minute 5 I was screaming "THANK YOU. that's what I've been trying to fricking tell people!"

Loved the video. Sent it to everyone I know.

As did I.

I've been defending it on this board since the day I saw it and I already have my reserved seat tickets to see TLJ the day it comes out.

I liked the movie, but there is nothing necessary about reusing a death star. About to watch the video, maybe it will convince me otherwise.

I liked TFA and I liked the prequels. If I walk out of the theater liking a movie, I do not give any shits what amateur critics say about TFA. TFA was not a reboot of Star Wars, it was a reintroduction to that universe. A good one given how much people liked it.

I wasn’t a fan of TFA, haven’t watched this yet, will look later.

If they actually go through with the Avatar last airbender style force balance rebirth thing that was in the early unverified leaks, I will hate it worse.

if you're on the fence about TFA, go back and watch the prequels.

It will then look like Shawshank
