It was the worst episode of the show. They have completely made the first 6 seasons mean nothing. Only apologists will defend this horse crap. The writing it horrible. Some fan fiction I’ve read is light years better.
Bad boys 2 had a better story than season 8 and probably season 7.

I did too.

How many of those bad reviews are from pissy Dany fans? I'm gonna say at least 80 percent.

Because its feminist dogma.

Rotten tomatoes is worthless.

Yes, season 8 has been mostly bad, but episode 5 was great.

8:00 on Sunday night they will be glued to the TV.

I'm convinced a large group of people just want to bitch and complain, regardless of the show.

If it were a ten-episode final season the trolls would be drowning out any praise with screams of “Boring filler shite

in a 6 episode season, 1/3 of it was filler

Had the past 2 seasons been paced properly, who knows how all of this would have been received.

i think there are still structural issues with teh plot that D/D created that would have affected things severely (primarily, Cersei killing all the nobles of note and ending the political drama), but 7 was just bad. more episodes would have helped, but the plot lines to go north of the wall was straight up retarded. that was the backbone of 7

The burning of the city was great TV. But the lead-up to it as well as euron scene was pretty bad and poorly written. Too rushed.

Hell, as I wrote in episode thread, look at how many pages it is. Should be around 100, only 60 right now. People have been writing off the show since E3.

I don’t know about everyone else, but the fact that the enemy they spent 7 full seasons building up turning out to be a massive dud kind of killed it for me.

The same people bitching about the “rushed nature, little character development, and time issues” would be bitching about “too much talking!!! Where’s muh draginz?!?!” and “OMG...who cares about what _________ is thinking....Muh White Walkers!!!!”

You really think this is the way he had it playing out?

He has said the show is more or less following the outline he gave them for the final books.

So yeah

The issue now is the Mad Queen implementation, which is GRRM’s plan, and how poor it was.

It was poor filmmaking. How is the audience supposed to make the leap from her resting on a rooftop after battle, to full-on Mad Queen mode other than a scowl on her face and no lines, speeches, etc.? Shakespeare would have had a monologue to explain what happens next. In filmmaking, you don't typically have that option, so you would use a montage. A montage depicting a scene/glimpse of her family getting slaughtered during Robert's rebellion, changing every time a bell rang, with escalating music coming to a crescendo right before she torched everything. Would have been epic and given the audience a REASON (even if it was a poor one).

Rotten Tomatoes was exposed last year for being susceptible to disgruntled review bombs to drive down scores.

It was basically rendered fake news from that point on, cant be trusted. Lots of articles about it

Reviews were all the DD defenders had. Now they've reverted to blaming GRRM. Where will they go next?

i don't see how that's even possible, with Dorne and Young Griff/Varys being major players in the books

Is incredible how most people moan about everything being spelt out for viewers and then when it isn’t spelt out for them they moan about it.

She literally said she would rule by love or fear and when John rejected her she said “fear it is”

That’s a pretty big fricking clue as to what is going to happen.

She then says to Greyworm “wait for my signal, you’ll know when it is” again suggesting she’s gone long to wreck shop.

Does anyone actually care how shows or films are reviewed? Same with the Oscars etc. Their best are usually trash and things people like are usually poorly rated. I would consider this a plus for GoT.
