re: Lonesome Dove - SWCBonfire on 11/8/16 at 6:47 am
the book > mini series.
Respectfully disagree. As mentioned, it was originally a screenplay, got turned into a book, and then a miniseries. No loss of quality at all between the book and miniseries, and Duvall as Gus was the best Western character portrayal of ALL TIME. If you ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2)
re: Top Colleges in the SEC - SWCBonfire on 11/2/16 at 7:32 am
A&M's research budget is becoming a monstrosity. We should be due to lap the other school in our state soon in research... as in double the budget. And money goes a lot further in B/CS than downtown Austin. There are not enough tier 1 spots for qualified students in Texas. This has benefitted oth...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Check in if aTm is deserving of their 4th ranking - SWCBonfire on 11/1/16 at 9:31 pm
It's fine, but they have essentially no shot at the playoff barring a collapse from Alabama.
We have a strong SOS right now that will drop in the coming weeks. We will need someone to falter to stay in the top four. I'm all for Bama losing, provided they do it twice in the regular ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: when was the last time the sec Had a quarterback as clutch as Austin Allen - SWCBonfire on 10/16/16 at 9:41 am
Maybe, just maybe, your coach should stop trying to get his good QB killed in the 4th quarter of games that are out of reach. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Texas, Once a Star, Becomes a Drag on the U.S. Economy - SWCBonfire on 10/13/16 at 11:09 pm
I would love to see the US military invade Texas and give them a big slice of humble pie.
Probably around a third to half of them would be getting a slice of pie baked by their mothers at home. This article is 100% correct - you boys best cut your losses and get rid of us befo...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Buying clothes as a big guy - SWCBonfire on 9/30/16 at 7:32 am
Dillard's usually has a well stocked big and tall section of you're not a millenial looking for skinny jeans. Cabelas used to carry a fair amount of decent casual clothing in larger sizes but not as much anymore, at least in my size....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
Lets be real, Dallas and San Antonio is not Aggie territory
Well, our ratings aren't quite as high there as they are in Austin, so you may have a point....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: "Americans, if you had to trade an American state out, which state would it be?" - SWCBonfire on 6/26/16 at 10:03 am

re: What if Hitler never invaded the Soviet Union - SWCBonfire on 5/23/16 at 9:55 pm
What is all this apologetic nonsense? I guess Hitler "had" to invade the Sudetenland, and Austria, and Poland, and France through neutral Belgium. The only truth is that Eastern Europe would be much better off had Stalin and Hitler never existed....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: What's the prettiest bird you've seen in the wild and where were you? - SWCBonfire on 12/23/15 at 10:32 pm
+1 to the painted bunting. Seen them in here in south central Texas. I will add green jay. Their flight path is San Antonio and westward, evidently....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: For my TAMU friends: some healthy discussion in advance of our game.. - SWCBonfire on 11/19/15 at 7:40 pm
Fun facts: 1. Chili was created in San Antonio, TX by Spanish settlers adapting their Canary Island recipes to tenderize poor cuts of meat with peppers that grow native in South Texas. 2. Chili does not have beans. Period. If you want beans, you are eating chili w/beans. You might as well say ri...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (3)
