And this is likely low balling. Both will be much higher. Are you watching one or both this weekend?

It’s crazy to me people are pairing these together. Barbie seems obviously to be more commercially successful but as far as films go, I’d imagine it won’t hold a candle to Oppenheimer.

Them being paired together like this is insulting to Christopher Nolan.

ETA: it’s premise is also incredibly solemn. It’s the freaking atomic bomb. This would be almost like pairing Barbie together with Schindlers list.

That's what I thought. I really don't understand the appeal. I saw one trailer, and it seemed like it was strictly made to be an internet meme.

I’m sick of the marketing and the constant in your face promotion for Barbie

Ready for that to come and go

I can't imagine why any adult men would want to see Barbie. This idea of pairing them together makes no sense at all.

Basically started out as a "haha what if..." type thing on discussion boards that people decided to actually do

With their significant others. I highly doubt you'll see a group of straight men walking in to see it.

Looks ridiculous to the point of being amusing. Probably a good "get high and munchies" movie.

I doubt Nolan minds all the free publicity

Exactly this. My wife worked at Mattel and is pretty excited about Barbie. We often will go see movies the other one is more excited about, in this case I'm excited for Oppenheimer and she's excited for Barbie. Haven't bought in to the double-feature piece yet, though.

I do not understand this… why can’t the guys just say.. “no I don’t want to watch a freaking Barbie movie… can you find some girlfriends or something to go instead? “

Or catch the movie solo? Girl will survive a 90 minute Barbie movie alone.

I'm going to Oppenheimer and Mrs. Iwy is going to Barbie. I actually wanted to see Barbie but I don't think I'm up for a tranny Barbie.

Geez, man. If your wife asked you to go see it with her, this would be your reaction?

You don't understand how different movies appeal to different groups of people?
