This Episode finally fixed something that always bothered me about all the Star Wars productions.
Sabine was training using non-lethal weapons (wooden sticks, holograms, etc.). I could never figure out why all the prior Star Wars had Jedis, padawans, younglings, etc. training will real light sabers. That seems inappropriate dangerous...hey 5 year old youngling, here is light saber...go practice with that other 5 year old with a light saber

Huyang’s grading with the hologram sabers was a really cool little nugget

If they bring Zeb back into live action, I wouldn't mind seeing Kallus make an appearance.

Also a nice little throwback to the original movie with the comment about how can I fight if I can't see comment after being given the helmet with the blast shield down.

Also, they have a 5 minute blind fighting scene and not one mention of Kanan?
This was the only thing I was thinking through that scene - girl, you watched a Jedi fight blind for like 40 episodes worth of battles. A blind dude trained you woman!
I get that a non-rebels audience won’t understand it, but for the ones that actually watched rebels it’s just completely off.

I’ve seen Rebels and completely forgot he was blind

That irked me as well.

Lots of lore from the old school. The nerd in me loved it. Best explanation of the force I’ve seen. Things George Lucas said years ago about how it works. Only thing I didn’t really care for was the space saber scene lol.
This
The force teaching was great

Um Kanan is all the way dead.
So was Maul. So was Palpatine. So was Boba Fett. Plenty of times we’ve thought a character was dead but wasn’t.

That's my problem with a lot of these Disney+ shows I've watched. A limited eight episode season has no business having a 37 minute filler episode.
I don't agree that this was filler. It's pretty obvious the main story is going to involve taking that ring ship to another galaxy. That means they had to show them following them to this planet. Unless Ahsoka and Sabine hitch a ride on a space whale, they're going to have to steal the ring ship or sneak on board and stow away.
I'm sure a lot of people were bored with the blind training scene since we've seen it before with Luke, but I also assume they are establishing her lack of skill for a reason, so I don't think that was filler either, just not very exciting.

We see Thrawn in trailers on that gold ship that Morgan was in so I think hitching a purgill ride will be their method.

That was a great episode of Star Wars.
And for any critics…

Thrawn will be the last scene in the final episode.
I will watch it all the way through but a little slow at the moment. A lot of time spent on Sabine to almost making her the key character. Just like the last season of Mando when the focus seemed to be on Bo.
We will see where it goes.

That would be dumb considering they showed him in the trailer

I disagree. I think we see Thrawn next week. I even thought we might see him at the end of this week.

throwback to the original movie
That’s their little prize to the fans for sticking with this sinking ship.
Same with the training scene. Throwback to Ep 4.
They produce nothing of content with the story.
Every female character is dead serious under nearly all situations.
No emotion.
Then they throw in a member berry or two and hope the fans stay on the leash.

We will see but I know next week whatever bad guy Wes Chatham is playing will show up.
In my opinion it will be the big build up with Thrawn showing up at the end and possibly the whereabouts of Ezra still being alive to set up season 2.

He’s playing Thrawns right hand man. Is he a survivor from the tussle with Ezra before getting zipped away?
Posted on 8/30/23 at 9:55 pm to DBG
Something I haven't seen asked, but say both Ezra and Thrown are still alive, what exactly have they been doing this entire time? Wherever they ended up, I assume they ended up together. Have they been battling it out this entire time in another galaxy, or perhaps just chilling? I think it would be rather lame to bring both back but give no background to their whereabouts or activities

If we have to wait till 2026 to see Ezra I'll lose my shite.
