The training session where Sabine‘s arms magically swell like three times as thick is pretty freaking hilarious. (Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.)

There’s a pretty established track record of Sith apprentices turning on their master. Once you take on an apprentice you better keep your head on a swivel.
The Rule of Two:
Once the apprentice surpasses the master, they are supposed to take their place - traditionally by killing them. If they fail, then the master clearly needs a different apprentice.
Palpatine, on the other hand, took two apprentices just to setup getting the one he really wanted - and then didn't dump Vader because he was powerful enough. Palpatine never assumed he would need a replacement (in the EU he had clones that he could transfer his consciousness into). It was only because one of the doctors who was handling the clones betrayed him that the plan didn't work (his clones kept degrading really fast) so in the final story he was going to transfer himself into Ben Solo - but Han shot him in the back, killing him before he could.

He fell down the trash chute, got transported to a trash planet, gave himself robot spider legs, went crazy, and befriended a snake. All while keeping himself alive with his hatred of Kenobi. He eventually gets cool robot legs and his mind restored by the night sisters of dathomir.
His arc through Clone Wars and Rebels is one of the best in Star Wars.

Validated knowing I wasn’t the only one that noticed this.

This is worse than swapping Taskmaster in Black Widow from male to female . Because reasons! (And Disney Marvel is a female centric corp.) They just don’t put any effort in anything anymore.
I’m reminded that Luke Skywalker was essentially every viewer when introducing the audience to the SW universe. He had never been off world, or barely seen much of Tattooine. Just like the audience. As he goes out into the Galaxy, so do we.
There is no sense of urgency with any of these characters or plot lines. They simply exist to set up next scene. The audience doesn’t feel like anyone is actually in danger. there are no consequences for their actions. Seriously, walking out onto the wing of a star fighter in the middle of a ship to ship battle? That’s his fricking retarded.

Was rewatching Rebels a few nights ago, that scene was pulled directly from an episode. It wasn’t something they just cooked up for this show.

ignore him
if Disney made A New Hope he’s be ranting about how dumb it is Luke’s shot made a right turn into the death star.

What episode was that? I remember Vader coasting down into the temple standing on top of his TIE, but that's a mile different from standing on top of a ship in an active battle in the void of space, meleeing the other ships with lightsabers.

She is a black belt in taekwondo and has been doing action films for nearly a decade. She probably knows how to make her muscles look good on film...

The animated show that was for kids? That's great. But sadly, it doesn't translate very well to live action. (Like the animated Camp Cretaceous for Jurassic Park-Nice for the kiddies, but far off the path that anything written by Crichton)
There are 3 ships vs 1 which has no power. There's no reason to attack the woman with a light saber standing ON the ship. Just blow it up, and it's game over. Ship destroyed, opponents dead. Space is in 3D. No need to fly in close and strafe the ship, just shoot it from 3 different positions all at once.
This is beyond dumb.

We’ve never seen the bad guys in Star Wars do stupid things or misfire blasters. Good point.
Anyway, was listening to the ringer today and Joanna Robinson mentioned that the industry and insider buzz is that episode 5, directed by Filoni, is the marquee episode. Fwiw.

quote:Are you guys really analyzing Star Wars science and strategy? I grew up a young Star Wars nerd back in the late 70s and have carried it on since. Most of it is nonsense, but it made me look up and learn how things really would work. This shite is no different IMO.

It's been vastly different since the sequels. The WW2 'bomber run' in TLJ was only surpassed in its stupidity by the space laser battering ram that the Empire just happened to have handy with them.
At least in RotJ they ordered the rebel ships to get close to the Star Destroyers to avoid getting obliterated by the Death Star's beam.
Disney Star Wars is just that dumb.

Then why do you keep watching it?

You think I'd WATCH this trash?
I don't even have D+. But plenty of folks do reviews of these shows. Clips and plot summaries are more than enough to see how badly this show is written.

So you don’t watch but take the time to read reviews and recaps and watch clips and form opinions to litter these threads with
liar
