re: MLB lockout

Why would they stay if the CBA is made better for rookies?
Also, I'm not sure Milam is going to be a high draft pick. I'm not sure how much power he projects at the next level for his size.
So it looks like they are negotiating with cable and streaming companies, but will also be offering a no-blackout package through MLB.tv as well.

Didn't he leave after he played 4 games, thus keeping his redshirt?

The more fun, and impossible because of the vastly different eras of the sport, is ranking LSU's 8 natty teams.
1997 LSU
2009 LSU
2023 LSU
1991 LSU
2025 LSU
1993 LSU
2000 LSU
1996 LSU
But I think you can rearrange 97, 09 and 23 in any order 1-3, same foes for 91, 25, 93 from 4-6. I think, while the most fun and thrilling win, 96 was by far the worst team of the bunch.

This is totally useless right now
Considering its a full-season projection, it's a lot less useless than Kent St.'s 11 RPI right now.
Look at who they play the rest of the season. Their RPI is only going to go down regardless of results.

I can remember how long A&M was ranked last year but it was about 3 to 4 weeks longer than they should have been due to preseason biases which d1 is by far the worst at. They think VERY highly of themselves and their pre season opinions.
This is my biggest issue with D1, largely Kendall and Fitt.
They are two dorks who in the 2000's were the only ones really covering college baseball with Rivals/Perfect Game and Baseball America. In that time, they built up this weird sense of "We know the sports better than anyone" complex and it still exists now even though a lot more people are following the sport and can see through their biases.

Last year they got off on the completely wrong foot starting 1-5 against the likes of Eastern Kentucky, South Alabama, SIU-Edwardsville and 3x against Mercer. So despite going 23-7 in conference play winning the MAC, they had no shot any type of selection because of that poor a start to the season and finishing just 34-18 overall. They definitely need to win 40+ games probably at minimum to ever be considered for a at-large bid playing the MAC.
The best MAC team hasn't had an RPI higher (lower?) than 82 the last three years.
Per Warren Nolan, Kent St.'s projected end-of-season RPI right now is 104 and that's with the four results against LSU and Tennessee already locked in. Warren Nolan also has them projected to go 48-6, which we know won't happen.
They are going to have to win their conference tournament.

Kent St will be interesting to follow. They finished 38-17 last season but didn't make the regionals. Starting off with a solid effort vs LSU and taking 2 of 3 @Tenn bodes well for them.
Just like last year for them, it does not matter what they do the rest of the regular season. They don't have another ranked team on their schedule.
All that matters is that they secure the autobid in the MAC tournament.

I'm assuming weather killed it and since it was after 5 innings, it counts as a game.

This is just made up nonsense. He has negative power, but has some of the best bat control on the team.

A midweek game against us doesn't mean much. The Tennessee series is a nice feather, but looking at their schedule, they won't play a ranked opponent the rest of the season unless Pitt sneaks into the bottom half of the rankings. They have two midweek games against them.

Baldwin 2-2 with a sharp single and a HR.
Kent State is very good offensively. They were one of the best teams at the plate last season and returned a bunch of those guys. Should've made the tournament, but because they play in a 1-bid league, it didn't matter that they won the regular season title, but mattered that they choked in the conference tournament.
They dogwalked Southeastern and I think we would've had our hands full if we played them in a series, instead of just a midweek.

I assume LF.
