I've had this done both awake and without meds. Only meds used was some numbing gel before hand. I wouldnt call it painful. It was certainly super uncomfortable

Kidney stones. They had to use smelling salts at the hospital to keep me from passing out from the pain
Close second was the 4 or so hours after having lasik. It felt like someone had poured gas on my eyes and lit them on fire

Based on looking back at my letterboxd ratings, Sinners and One Battle After Another are my top ones.

After Wake Up Deadman, I'm in for anything Josh O'Connor is doing. Add in Emily Blount and Colman Domingo and it should be a fantastic cast

Watched this and The Holiday for the first time this year. Both are not just bad Christmas movies, they aren't good movies period. I don't understand the love for them.

How's that working out?
Well, considering this is the first mass shooting event they've had in nearly thirty years, I'd say pretty well considering

That's probably fair. I've tried to read it all the way through and gave up.

re: Home security system

With modern systems there's really no reason for the monitored systems from places like Custom these days. There's plenty of newer systems that can immediately alert you on your phone of anything that happens. Now you may need to have some wiring done for most of them, but that's not that big of a cost in the long run.

My kids are between 6 and 12 and we've taken them twice. Took them to the Rockies over the summer this year and they've decided national parks are the best vacations. So we will be doing that from now on. Which I'm 1000% on board with

My actual expenses every month, not including unexpected stuff, is close to $7K. Combined my wife and I make less than $150K gross. So there's not much wiggle room for any additional savings outside of retirement funds. I've picked up a second job just to try and enable us to have some savings. It's absolutely rough out here.

Republican party gets hammered in elections last week. Conveniently now, he wants to take money US consumers paid due to the tariffs and "give it to the people". Sounds like trying to buy votes in the midterms

Josh won because of the bitter jury against Paul, just like Ashley won because of the bitter jury against Vince.
The Vince and Paul comparison is spot on. Both arguably deserved to win their seasons, but burned so many bridges with the jury that they lost due to a bitter jury. Only reason I'm ok with this and not Paul's loss is that at least Ashley had a great social strategy and won the comps when it counted. Josh was maybe one of the worst and most annoying players in BB history and should have never won that year.
