re: Explosion in peanut allergies because of the CDC/APA
Posted by NfamousPanda on 4/7/25 at 3:54 pm
I think it's genetics. I was born in the 80s and have had a peanut allergy my whole life. Nearly died from it a couple times. With our first kid, my wife never avoided anything while pregnant or breast feeding. First kid has multiple severe allergies, one of which is peanuts. With our second kid, she avoided all the things our first kid is allergic to. Second kid has the exact same allergies as the first kid. I honestly think it's just a genetic thing I passed down to them. Modern medicine is preventing "survival of the fittest" from taking place so genetic issues that probably wouldn't survive long in a blood line are now being treated by doctors and continuing to get passed on. Without modern medicine, I would have died in high school from my peanut allergy and due to that, there would be two less kids in the world with peanut allergies.

Can we just get Max in a different car every week? Pretty sure he could drag that Sauber into Q3

I live in that area. Walking on or by that road in the dark is a recipe for disaster. Like dewster said, no shoulder, deep ditches, and minimal lighting. Feel terrible for his family and for whoever the unfortunate person that hit him is.

They only gave deVries 11 races in a vcarb dumpster car. I have no doubt the leash on anyone in the second RB is even shorter than that. Now I am shocked they would just completely sack him rather than just swap him for Yuki.

If Red Bull has any other driver in that box than Max, I really think RB would have a solid chance of leading them in the standings. But Max could probably drag a literal tractor onto a podium

We had my daughters birthday party at Skate Galaxy recently. The place was packed the whole time we were there

I've got two kids with multiple allergies. Both have dairy allergies and knew long before the age of 6 what they could and couldn't have. This is just terrible parenting
So you've got a parent that barely parents and doesn't live in the district trying to destroy this poor lady's life for a payday. So many things about this make me angry

Seems it got lost in the race weekend talk. But the new RPM video is great. Just 30 minutes of absolute Stroll hate.

Without hesitation I'd take it. Where can I sign up?

With antonelli and lawson likely not having good results for a while, therefore making their teams one car scoring teams, I really like williams chances to rack up some points in the early part of the season.

I used FSD for about 3-4 months with a ton of driving in Baton Rouge. It did great and I rarely ever had to intervene.

most people they dont get as much done as they would in an office setting
I find the opposite to be true. I work a hybrid schedule and I get way more done on home days than I do on in office days. When I'm in the office, everyone just wants to socialize and have "water cooler" talk. I find there's multiple hours plus lunch breaks just with people essentially hanging out. At home I can get more work actually done and still be able to cut the grass or clean the kitchen or other home tasks during lunch breaks. I'm way more efficient on my home days
re: Anyone have recent success with the USPS?
Posted by NfamousPanda on 2/28/25 at 10:49 am
USPS priority used to be good. The last year or so it has been absolute trash. I shipped something to Austin last month that is just lost in limbo. I just tried to ship something else to the same address in Austin, and it's been 9 days and has just now today hit a distribution center in Dallas.

Finally. Seems most people thought it was the weakest of the secret novels. I think it’s one of my fav Sanderson Books.
I go back and forth on how I feel about it. I think Nomad's story is one of the best protagonist stories Sanderson has done. And the Cinder King is a good villain. It was all the other characters that I found incredibly forgettable. And the story itself is somewhat forgettable, but an incredibly fun ride while you're experiencing it.
