After "Us" and "Nope", I wonder if I need to re-examine "Get Out"

People need to stop using "Jordan Peele" and "Genius" in the same sentence.

Was "Get Out" really a bad movie, and I was caught up in the hysteria?

Naw, Get Out was pretty damn good. "Jordan Peele" and "One Hit Wonder"

Get out was fricking terrible. It wasn't at all scary or funny and that includes the stereotypical, loud mouthed working class "black friend".

Just a shite movie all the way around.

Get Out was good, but pretty vastly overrated by critics IMO. It was at least good though.

Us was really good until the last 20 minutes or so. Then it went from good, creepy psychotic to laughably stupid.

I’m still interested in Nope though. I got a ton of downvotes a few weeks ago for saying Peele makes good movies (technical-wise), but he struggles to stick the landing. I think that’s fair.

I liked Get Out a lot. Didn't care for Us at all. Debating on whether or not to see Nope.

No need to re-examine, Get Out was always an average movie and the other two are not good at all.

It wasn't a bad movie. Just grossly overrated by people with an agenda to push. It was mediocre as someone else already said. Peele is a below average writer director that began his directing career at exactly the right time. Years from now, no one is going to give a rats arse about any of his movies.

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't nearly as great as people make it out to be.

I saw a list of the top 100 horror movies of all time last week and TWO JP movies were in the top 5.

I've never seen anything about any of these movies that would make me want to see them.

Wait I was told it was loaded with clever nods to other films, Peele was an auteur, and I just didn’t get it (not here)

Wtf are you talking about? Many critics view Get Out as his best film. That is not taking away anything from his other 2 films. He is clearly one of the best directors working right now. All 3 films were great….& ORIGINAL ideas. That does not happen very often.

All of his movies are vastly overrated because of…tMessage.

I thought Nope would be the worst of all of them in that regard, but it played much more straightforward imho. There are still moments that you could use to push a specific narrative, but you’re really having to reach. It wasn’t some great movie by any means, but it was a good afternoon at the theater.
