I have a hard time believing the SEC would allow the CFP committee to keep their Conf Champ out the CFP

If you think them baws dont have a say you havent been paying attention.

My take, commitee is throwing out the FSU loss or LSU wouldn’t be ranked where they are.

LSU administration should be kicked in the arse for ever allowing the game to be scheduled like it was. No problem having an opening game against a P5 OOC opponent. You don’t give the opponent a tune up game though before your opening game though.

Florida State was playing their second game of the season while LSU was playing their first.

No doubt, but this 2 loss LSU team would have beaten the #1 team in UGA while already sitting at #6 currently.

I feel like the committee is writing that FSU loss off almost completely, to be honest.

My bet is that LSU winning out, regardless of what happens with the other teams, gets them in.

However I don't think anyone can be upset if they get left out either.

UGA would riot if they let LSU in over UGA after how mad UGA got regarding 2007.

I wouldn't blame them at all. I'd be pretty pissed if it happened to LSU

If Daniels can have a the game of his life and Perkins on defense keeps dominating entire offenses, LSU has a very legit shot at winning this thing.

They probably have a field of Ohio State, TCU, LSU, and Georgia

I'm not saying that is a just or objective outcome or that it is good for college football. Everyone other than Ohio State and TCU would have put themselves at risk of missing the playoffs anyway

UGA didn’t win their division in 2007 so they have no complaint. Don’t get your arse beat so bad next time by a division opponent

How is UCLA a good win? They lost to a 4-7 Arizona team!

Arch rival, top 20 team, on the road.

You could say the same about Mississippi

Frankly we're giving Alabama too much credit also. They've looked shaky all year and have squeaked by bad teams.

If LSU wins they are in. The only way UGA is out is if both TCU and USC both won out. There’s no way they will leave a one losd USC out. Or an unbeaten TCU. That would suck for UGA cause imo they would smash both teams. And I don’t care if LSU beats them by one point. They are a lock if they win the next two games.

I really wish people would just look at that scenario and see that they aren't one in the same. Penn State beat Ohio State early in the season. It's not the same as LSU beating UGA in the conference championship.

Plus, I believe someone pointed out in another thread that none of the people that were on the committee in 2016 are on it now. And there's nothing saying that they have to follow that precedent. Every team should be evaluated based on what has happened this year, not what was done 6 years ago.

Plus, wasn't Auburn, with 2 losses, the #2 team before losing to UGA in 2017? There's no doubt that Auburn would have been in with 2 losses as the SEC Champ.

Usc won't make it. Uga would be 4 at worst, unless they absolutely get blown out

Dude. It's going to be 12-1 vs 11-2

If you don't think there's a chance Georgia has a chance in that scenario, I don't know what to tell you. H2h and conf championships have always been secondary.

The key to this thing is make conference champion a requirement for consideration. That is objective and easy to plan for. It is the easy thing to do.

Never said that...dude.

I said it's asinine to think that because they did it before, they are going to do it again.

If LSU is sitting at #6 going into the SECCG, then it's going to take absolutely smashing UGA, or other teams losing in addition to a win for LSU to get in.

If LSU is at #5 going into Atlanta, there's no way they get left out with a win. That would mean they didn't move at all (or even more ridiculous, moved backwards) after beating #1.

It's all about where LSU is sitting going into that game. The 2 losses are irrelevant at that point. Hell, unless the committee moves USC above LSU this week (which I believe will happen), LSU will be #5 with 2 losses--behind 4 undefeated teams.

I think at that point you just go into it saying the SEC championship is a play in game.

I’ve always assumed it was. Assuming LSU beats A&M, Obviously they throw a wrench in things being a 2 loss but seems like a poor decision to leave out the SEC champ.

UGA is out. Their signature win vs Tennessee isn’t that impressive anymore. They played two west bottom feeders.

UGA is in regardless.

For the love of God this is like the 5th thread in a week on this.

Georgia is in regardless of whether they lose the SECCG or not.
