he was hurt most of the 85-86 season and came back at the end to get the Bulls into the playoffs. Yes, they lost in 3 to the Celtics, but he singled handedly took 1 game to multi OT's. If you watched it you knew we were watching something special, that's something you cant get just measuring team records.

I knew I was watching something special with T-Mac early on with the Magic. We know how that ended.

The idea that Jordan is "da greatest eva." Dude had zero winning seasons and one playoff win without Scottie Pippen. The year he retired, the Bulls only win two fewer regular season games and Pippen is the MVP of the all-star game, lol.

So Pippen is the GOAT.......We've been overlooking this for years.

and how many without Gasol?

This just in, no one wins titles by themselves. And FTR, the person that started the Jordan as GOAT talk was Dr Jack Ramsey and he started when the Bulls made their first Finals appearance.

You realize that Gasol only averaged about three more buckets per game than Horace Grant during the Bull's first championship run, and that was mainly because Gasol shot the ball more. FG% is identical.

You see Phil Jackson running the triangle through Horace Grant and Jordan winning a title, because that's about what you are saying. Gasol is not even on the same planet as Shaq or Pippen in terms of ability. Hell, I wouldn't even take him over a prime Dennis Rodman.

All I'm saying, is that Pippen won 20 playoff games and three playoff series without Jordan. Jordan won one playoff game without Pippen. Translate that any way you want.

I would also add the one year Jordan retired, Pippen became only the second player in NBA history to lead his team in five major statistical categories. Garnett and Lebron have done that since.

Pippen was the all-around better player and the reason the Bulls won they way they did, not Jordan. It's like ESPN giving Jordan credit for UNC's natty, even though James Worthy was not only the leading scorer for the championship but the leading scorer for the entire damn tournament and when Worthy left, Jordan didn't do a damn thing at UNC but get busted out of the tourney every year.

Now I might be wrong about this, but aren't you the guy that said Steve Young wasn't that good or he was extremely overrated or something like that?

ESPN 8 - The Ocho

Oh, and sneaky move by the OP trying to make this a thread about ESPN. No doubt if the thread were titled "Kobe >>>> Jordan" this thing would have blown up.

Yea, that's me and he is overrated. Dude had Jerry Rice and Terrel Owens (at the same time no less) and couldn't win but one Super Bowl. I mean everybody looks at his stats, but nobody considers the fact that he was throwing to two of the top three WR's all-time for basically all of his career. There are a lot of QB's that could have done a lot more with the talent he had around him. He's overrated.

BTW, thanks for reminding me. Stever Young would not exist without ESPN. The fact that he's on there to constantly remind us about how great he is all-the-time probably contributes to this perception of him being some kind top 10 all-time QB, when he is definitely not even close to that.
