re: How do you season your steak before cooking? - Matisyeezy
I want to do the whole put the steak on lump charcoal/coals thing, caveman steak or whatever. I've had steak cooked most ways. But not that. I'd give it a shot. But I'm a salt and pepper guy....

re: Ed has done twice in 3 games what Les couldn't anymore - Matisyeezy
That loss to Kentucky was inexcusable. Terrible management of personnel and playcalling. Kentucky was actually ranked that year and had a stud QB in Andre Woodson iirc. But he gets a pass on the Arkansas game. They went all in on the Wild Hog that game in a way they hadn’t all year. We weren’t r...

re: Gas station fried chicken. - Matisyeezy
Both Brothers and Krispy Krunchy do a solid job for what it is. Fun story, my buddy developed the recipe for the red beans at Krispy Krunchy. Apparently individual franchises can elect to offer menu items, and the company saw this was an item being neglected because it was not halal (contained bacon...

re: FBD - Rainy Saturday - Matisyeezy
How did I miss you? We got there a few minutes after 9 and I grabbed my cans and sent the girlfriend home with them. Hung out for a bit, then walked to the garden around like 9:45ish. I was at the garden until it shut down early for weather. I must have walked right by you, if you got there at 9:30 ...

re: FBD: Good Morning - Matisyeezy
Ha, probably. More I just started a part-time gig in the industry. Had to do something this summer. Now whatever I say is potentially a reflection on a larger company, so I have to moderate. Can’t be negative or generally positive. Neutral is the name of the game. ...

I looked at the pics, where's the actual outdoor seating? Kinda unusual to call yourself a "beer garden" without that, right?...

First couple BDs are not pictured. From a local dive by the new pad we just dropped cash on while watching England and Croatia. I don’t know shite about soccer. It was fun, though. Then split a few brews. Decent night. Glasses that hold 16 oz. are the shit [img]https://i.imgur.com/nmnYfQK_d.jpg?ma...

re: Jack Fruit. Anyone eat that stuff? - Matisyeezy
It has next to no protein in it. It’s completely overrated nutritionally.
Damn. I've always seen it used as a meat substitute. I don't know that I've personally had it, I possibly have. It's really low in protein -- that's borderline useless....

re: Sous Vide- fad or legit weapon in the kitchen arsenal? - Matisyeezy
I've been thinking about it for awhile and I'm almost ready to pull the trigger. My only hesitation at this point is that I primarily see it used for proteins. How much application does this have for a vegetarian diet? I'm not a vegetarian myself, but I cook for/with one frequently....
