My grandma was a hell of an athlete when she was younger. At the end of her life she had late stage alzheimer's, was non verbal, in a wheelchair, and stayed kind of hunched over. You could toss a tennis ball past her and it didn't matter how much heat you put on it, she was reaching out and catching it. She had something against blonde people and my blonde nazi looking cousin said something smart arse right when she caught the ball. She threw a 99 mph fastball at him and caught him right in the fruits from about 20 ft away. That was the first time I saw her smile in probably a year or two. Not really an amazing sports accomplishment but something that I'll always remember and it was the first thing that came to mind when I opened this thread. She was an awesome lady, I still miss her 15 years after her passing.

End of the freshman year in HS party. We had been drinking and my buddies Larry, Terry and I went walking down the street at night. Terry finished his beer, grabbed a rock, threw his beer bottle in the air and drilled it midair with the rock. Larry and I fell out cheering and told him no way he'd ever do that again. He told me to hand him my beer bottle. He chucked it in the air, smoked that one with another rock. In the air. Drunk. At night.
I'm 60 and, to this day, is still the most incredible athletic feat I've seen in person.

At the high school level, I once saw a guy run for over 300 yards with like 5 touchdowns. And when I say I saw it, I mean up close and personal. As in I was on the field playing defense(or lack thereof).
9th grade when I played JV. We were losing at half-time maybe 21-0, something like that. Our starting running back was in trouble with mom. So she didn't allow him to play that game. He still came to the game, but wasn't dressed out. At halftime, he decided to take things into his own hands. He bullied a kid who rode the bench, and made him take off his pads to give it to him. This guy played the second half, and proceeded to lead us to a comeback victory. Damn near everytime he got the ball, he scored.
He was probably one of the most naturally athletic guys I've ever met. He was guaranteed the starting varsity spot for when we became sophomores. I still believe he had the talent to go D1 FBS. Unfortunately, he was too much of a headcase. He quit football to sell drugs after freshman year, and eventually dropped out.
At the pro level. I went to a Hawks game to see them play the Lakers. This was about 2010-2013 timeframe, before achilles. Kobe led a comeback where he seemingly scored every point in the 4th. It was a really fun game to watch. That wasn't even the amazing part. The amazing part was that Phillips Arena may as well have been the Staples Center. Never in my life have I seen the crowd at a sporting event erupt so loudly in celebration for the away team.

Michael Jordan's last season with the Wizards playing in New Orleans.
He missed a game winning or tying shot in the closing seconds and the entire crowd groaned in disappointment when he missed it.
I'm the biggest Hornets/Pelicans fan around, and always have been, but I went to that game to watch MJ, not the Hornets. Some people are special that way, Kobe included. and sometimes you just have to respect greatness when it's happenign in front off you, even if it's against your home team.

Oregon - beating Oklahoma....
Because that seemingly miraculous comeback (Oklahoma held a 33-20 lead with 3:12 remaining) then the bogus onside kick and (worse) bogus review.... And then OU almost wins it back with a 70 yard return in the final seconds only to have the makeable FG blocked as time runs out.
The cluster-frick of the last 5 minutes of that game was truly amazing....and an accomplishment in dissuading anyone to ever bet on sports again.
Only "the Play" Cal-Stanford game probably left attendees more confused.

I saw Cecil Fielder get a stolen base at the Metrodome in 1996.

1990 Knoxville Nationals when Doug Wolfgang ran the alphabet. Advanced through the D main, C main, B main and finished 5th in the A main.
A 1992 dirt late model show where twin 30 lapped were run. The format called for a full field invert in the second 30 lapper based off of the finishing order of the first. The guy who won the first one started in 19th, came through the field and won. Now he had to start last (24th) in the second and won that one going away.
Personally involved in a high school football game my junior year. I was a guard but on one play I’d switch to tackle because I could pullout quicker than the regular tackle. Ran the play 7 times and scored 7 touchdowns. We had a very fast tailback who had over 500 yards on 12 carries. The most impressive aspect of that game was that we lost 44-42. Our defense sucked and we couldn’t convert a 2pt conversion or PAT.

Don’t know if it’s an accomplishment per se, but I saw Derek Jeters last home run in Yankee Stadium.

Cecil Collins vs Crowley, forget what year.
I want to say 1993. We were good in the early 90's and that year made it to the semifinals before losing to John Curtis. But I remember Leesville and Collins. He was basically unstoppable in high school.

Watched a few world records broken at USa Swimming Nation Championships.
Cool for me as a swimmer, I still get excited to see World Records on tv.

I watched Antonio Perkins return three punts for touchdowns for OU against UCLA in 2003.

Visually impressive? Dale Sveum hit a home run. I was in the outfield seats and it flew way over my head.
Nothing special about the homer or when it happened. I was just fortunate enough to have the perfect vantage point.
