Fine with me.

TCU is at TT this year and it won't mess with my season tix.

Is there a financial penalty for the school that boycotts? Would have to think the revenue lost for a home game would be rough for TT to take.

If this judges ruling stands, and Sorsby plays 1 mfing down... then we all owe Pete a HUGE posthumous apology!

Is only agreeing to play by the rules all these schools, including TT, agreed to collusion?

TT is going to be playing a clearly ineligible player. Why would other league schools be forced into transparently illegitimate competition?

Lubbock
Not sure on the Oxford one, but this case in particular the Lubbock Judge recused himself and they brought on a retired Judge to make a ruling. The retired Judge served in Tarrant County, so good chance he is also Conservative, just interjecting that the Judge in Lubbock admitted he would have a conflict of interest.

You realize almost every judge and court that has made an anti NCAA ruling has been conservative right? Just making sure you understand the facts when throw around “activist judges.” If you intended to call conservative courts activist judges then I apologize and I agree with your label.

I don’t think anyone was suggesting there was an angle to it from an activist standpoint beyond judges who are reelected locally or open boosters for a school making biased rulings.

Texas Tech should have had some integrity themselves and told Sorsby to take a hike. THIS is the offense to do that on

I kind of wonder if TTU went along with letting Sorsby take his case to court, expecting that the judge would side with the NCAA and that Sorsby being ruled permanently ineligible would've given them grounds to void all of his NIL contracts and not have to pay him.

Is there anything preventing a rival from getting a friendly judge to bar Sorsby from playing in his district?

Tech had no choice to go along with this. They have one of the most expensive rosters in cfb even without Sorsby. Without a QB this year’s team would just be a repeat of 2025. Destroy overmatched conference opponents then get boat raced in the playoffs.

You think those are elected liberal judges?

He isn't an elected judge, he isn't even an active judge.
He's a retired judge, graduated law school 50 years ago, they pulled out of retirement to hear this case.

Apparently the courts may decide that, but the other schools can do whatever they choose just like Texas Tech. They can refuse to play them.

NCAA should drop the hammer on them and make them re-hire Brian Kelly

That isn't gonna happen. Nothing to gain by boycotting games for anyone. There are no rules anymore so it would be better if people planned accordingly.

If the tv contract is structured in such a way that the conference has to refund money for boycotted games....no one will boycott.

Cinn. has sued him for the NIL money he got from them. As for the judge, Thamel said that he has a history of.......successfully...suing the NCAA.

What? There’s literally been people arrested and served jail time for similar occurrences.
