He won 1 national championship with Pete and 6 without. I guess I’m just not understanding your case. Help me out here.

I'm pretty sure he played at the same school as Curiel and batted like .100 points higher, FWIW.

You mean .3 points higher? Their senior years were .318 ca like .352 respectively.

My degree (ME) still holds its own in prestige and rankings reasonably well, but the school as a whole has taken big steps backward.

That may be true, but whatever experience you may or may not have matters way more than some degree in the Engineering world from what I’ve seen. No one truly cares about the school except to talk shite with coworkers during sports season.

Such a casual take. Vols have one of the best transfer portal classes and just hired one of the best pitching coaches in the country. We also have a 25 game lead on the team in second place. It would take a collapse from Tennessee and Arkansas with an old man as their coach to have a couple insane seasons to catch us. That isnt happening soon

If only you had any sort of lead on what matters. Championships

I've noticed that nearly all LSU fans consider Kiffin to be an almost God like head coach

So you’re saying you have reading comprehension issues? We thought what he did at a historically bad program like Ole Miss was impressive. Does that mean he’s God like? Talk about dramatic lol
People get way to into rankings of different schools. LSU alumni and have worked along side Georgia Tech, Georgia, Auburn, Bama, Texas alumns in the Engineering space. Not much difference.
Tv ratings are hard to compare as they do not calculate ratings today like they did in the past. As far as attendance we just saw our first consecutive years of rising attendances since the 2008 season. Not exactly screaming a huge climb consistently to me. I think people just say it because of the feel and their overall preference that they do not feel anymore. Once the feeling became more individual based and less about the school or the state pride people got turned off. Doesn’t mean they won’t watch and their are still many passionate out there.
The lack of logic by the Rebel fans on this board is astounding. Which is odd because I know several IRL and they really aren’t this dumb.

It’s all they have when they haven’t won anything of significance in 3 decades. LSU broke Tennessee
That’s a legit opinion. Unfortunately many coin the football, basketball, and baseball sports as “big 3” so you may have to see that phrase thrown around.
Right. But I’m just explaining the concept on why it’s like it is. Because you don’t understand the simple concept is not my problem. Y’all act like LSU fans coined the term big 3 and that’s not the case lol.

Where’s preseason heisman trophy winner and national champion Sam Leavitt?

Would be pretty impressive to be on that list if he wasn’t even in attendance. The idiotic obsessed posts are out of hand lol
Whether yall like it or not there is always a big 3 time due to college athletics associating with the NFL, NBA, and MLB. This isn’t a new concept no idea how it still surprises yall lol

When you say the same thing about Alec Blair, people here get really upset.

Wasn’t he a freshman? Not sure why that’d matter much.

Can’t say I’ve even thought of Bama for awhile. It’d be nice if you told us what you are even talking about.

I grew up in Louisiana and now live in Mississippi. Mississippi has Jackson, but the others have Shreveport, Montgomery, New Orleans, Birmingham, etc. You get the picture. The best is Mississippi by a mile. The worst is Alabama. Louisiana has great food and my beloved Tigers.

There are shite holes like that scattered all over MS. The biggest difference is just not as much people living in those towns.
quote:

I have lived in MS and LA.

So have I. There is no major difference.
quote:

Okay? Pretending that college is baseball is on the same level as CFB or MBB just makes you look like a mark.

I don’t believe anyone has stated this correct? Why you making crap up now or arguing just to argue?
quote:

There will always be a big 3 because of the correlation with the NFL, MLB, and NBA. You don't have to like it, but it is what it is.

This. It triggers many on here to use the verbiage, but they act like LSU created the term Big 3. This isn’t the case it’s been around for a very long time

I'm not sharing an opinion on revenue; I am sharing facts from recognized sources. Baseball and softball have very similar costs, while Love's field is larger than L. Dale Mitchell - therefore from a ticketing standpoint, there is more revenue. More asses in the seats means more beer/concession/merch sales.

Right, but you are still wrong lol. They had an operating loss of just under 3 million. There may be more revenue, but there are more expenses. Hence your statement of them operating in the black is incorrect. Their revenue was 7.7 million and had 10.6 million of expenses. This equals a deficit of 2.9 million. The “fact” you are stating is incorrect.
quote:

I'm not sure what you guys are reading, I simply used the AI search on Google, and it has links to support its statements. Obviously, data searched can be erroneous, but I doubt the New York Times, Sports Illustrated, Yahoo Sports, or ESPN documents are wrong. If the links were to Chucks Sporting Goods in Norman, I would have questioned it. I do like softball on television better than baseball, boredom sets in. If baseball were more fast paced - I would enjoy them evenly. The games are just way too long and make me want to nap. From a purely coaching standpoint, they are nearly identical. You hit the same, you field the same. Pitching is different, but the mental part of pitching is identical. Tactics are the same. As someone mentioned earlier - the softball players for the most part do look MUCH better as well. LOL

You are more than welcome to share this opinion. Many may agree with you and many may not. That’s what great about having opinions. But just pointing out you may want to check those links. I’m pretty sure you’re just looking at revenue and saying that it generates more cash. Not realizing that they have more expenses to obtain said revenue. Meaning the profit is lower and they operated at a big loss.
