I took it for he was saying those things you listed are indeed true, and that’s the sad part.

For infidelity? You can’t enforce that in an organization in which half the players have side arse

I could care less about therapy, admitting it was wrong, or whatever.

But it’s laughable to try and admit it, pull a move like this, and then you know they will be pissed when the media asks about it. The ignorance on the optics is what’s total BS. Just take the week off and go to some BS therapy for an hour a day and work from home.

Why? He didn't do anything illegal and Russini wasn't a team employee. So its not an employment problem, its a personal family issue between Vrabel and his wife.

I think it had more to do with the reports that he initially lied to Kraft about it not being a romantic relationship.

But Kraft was never going to fire Vrabel over this. His coach’s relationship with Russini will probably land them AJ Brown for crying out loud.

Moral clauses are used to get out of contracts the team doesn’t want to be in. They are built to give teams to freedom to take action if they want and remove the contractual guarantees, but they are no some auto fire trigger built into contracts

If Vrabel was in year 4 of a disappointing team build, the conversation might be different, but given the season he just had, you had to be truly foolish to think the pats were firing him for this

The demand for NFL coaches who can take a team from 3-14 in the previous season to 14-3 and the Super Bowl in the next season is high. The supply is low. He's not the principal at a Christian boys prep-school, nor is he a marriage counselor. He's a NFL head coach with ONE job...to win as many football games as possible. This past season he (along with two other HCs) won more games than any other HC in the league. You don't fire a HC because of legal, even if immoral, conduct unrelated to his on the field performance. Particularly, in profession where infidelity is not exactly uncommon.

He cheated on his wife. If I had a sister he started dating I’d be perturbed. If he were coaching the Saints? I’m ok with it.

He didn’t drug and rape Rossini for 6 years. Didn’t bite her like Albert. Didn’t try to kill her if she told his wife. Just a couple shite spouses bumping uglies.

Mock them. But firing seems excessive.

He may act right but in the back of his mind "it" will always be there.

Mike Vrabel was seen shopping for a baby blue women’s sweatsuit — believed to be for his wife, Jen Vrabel — at a store located inside the Salt Lake City International Airport on Saturday

I guess the therapy he was attending was in Utah and/or it was retail therapy . . . unless it was for a mistress or hookup.

This reminds me of when I was a little kid and I would ask my dad for something from the city he was traveling to for work (usually a hat or t-shirt of one of the local sports teams). As I got older, I realized he was buying most of it at the airport before he flew home. He wasn't going out of his way to shop for the coolest hat, shirt, etc...because he had work to do (not something you consider as a little kid). He was likely at the airport thinking: "shite. I forgot to get a hat. I think I saw one at the store a little ways back"

Mike's not going out of the way to find that really special gift. He's just half assed trying to find something to make his wife believe he was thinking of her. As a 7 year old an airport Okland A's t-shirt was just fine. But somehow I doubt an airport sweatsuit is going to smooth things over with an embarrassed and angry wife.

True on all fronts. Also not a violation of any league rule.

However.....

It is certainly not Best Practices to allow team and league employees to be engaged in sex with credentialed members of the media given the professional nature of that dynamic. This case is just an affair. What if the next one involves domestic violence between a coach and a journalist. What then?

The NFL needs to come out and say, "Let's have no more of this. Sex between coaches (and other league employees) and the press is now against the personal conduct policy."

His wife was spotted yesterday wearing her wedding ring. That’s her decision.

I do think he is a total scum ball for doing this to his family, which he doesn’t cherish as evidenced by his actions. Sure he will claim that his family is his priority but clearly they weren’t and haven’t been for a while.

All of this, they would be stupid to fire him for this.

Probably below her belly button in their natural habitat.
