Draft Kings may as well start sponsoring the locker rooms.

Lmao no other school in the country wants their players to be eligible despite betting on teams their active on. This extends far beyond the big 10 and SEC but TT will pay for it in the future

Another path could be for other schools to refuse to play Texas Tech. Courts can’t force them to play.

I cant take college football seriously anymore. This is so lame. What an awful look for Texas tech.

Maybe you can salvage this by the playoff committee refusing to vote tech into the playoffs?

Completely stupid. He bet on NCAA football. Even further, he bet on the team he was part of.

Should absolutely be permanently banned from collegiate competition.

This shouldn’t be an issue because he shouldn’t be on a team

How in god’s name hasn’t Tech kicked him off the team?

Absolutely unhinged

Then revoke TTU's membership. That is the only play NCAA has to enforce its rules. Member institutions have to follow rules or they are removed.

The CFP isn’t controlled by the NCAA. The CFP voters could keep TTU out of the playoffs but the NCAA doesn’t have any teeth here.

Sure, but the CFP would then have to stomach putting in a team that went 0-12 and indirectly support players gambling on college football. I don't think they would do it. Furthermore, if the NCAA said they were invalidating the games he plays in, I don't think Tech would play him.

The courts say these guys can play because you are harming them by making millions. I get that. I still don't get what that has to do with the NCAA just saying, "ok you're playing with an ineligible player. You lose"

Is Tom Mars on the board? Can he chime in?

Everything changes. Pete Rose era of gambling was an overt, seedy lifestyle that required people, connections, etc., Nowadays, even ESPN forces gambling down our throat with every other commercial, even forced gambling into the ESPN app, and make fans feel like losers if they don’t bet now.

The laws haven’t caught up with the changes. NIL money was/is the same, dealerships used to “loan” players cars for six years, like GTFO. Sorsby shouldn’t pay the price for greedy insiders trying to line their pockets, while outdated laws punish him and the team. He should be allowed to play, and all the NCAA and their corporate partners need to be held accountable if they really wanna make a change.

GUNS UP!

(I stole this from r/TexasTech)

No doubt, but the fact that the NCAA can't regulate their own leage is fricking comical.

How long until someone who's been kicked off a team for a crime sues and is let back on?

fricking clown show.

They have to. NCAA has been getting their asses handed to them in court the last several years, but if there's a case that the NCAA needs to be ready to die on that hill for.....this is it

Yes, any long term suspension carries that "injury"

This is a judge saying that no player can get any long term NCAA suspension for essentially anything

Cannot stand. They have to fight this all the way through even if it takes months
