James Brown led to the beginning of the end of Nebraska football
That 1996 Big XII Championship is one of the best games ever
So with that James Brown can be a Run and Shoot QB if he wants to be

Mackovic ran a pro style offense not a Run n Shoot
Mack came in made it more run oriented. He promised Ricky a Heisman so he wouldn't go play baseball.
That Texas team had the strangest story ever though during the Sugar Bowl with the 28 yr old claiming to be someone else

Statistically he's better than Frazier
Frazier ran the triple option. If you count his stats along with the stats of his option RBs, TBs, WBs, Frazier blows others out the window.
It's called option so you can't just can't count the stats of the QB.

I say James Brown can run any offense he wants because of how he lead to the beginnings of the destruction of Nebraska football
I believe this has lead to the era of sharks eating sharks or the destruction of blue blood programs
Especially when the conferences realign again

Frazier ran the triple option.
Be careful with that phrasing. While there was triple option involved in the offensive scheme he ran, Frazier took the vast majority of his snaps out of the I-Formation. There was no Wing or Wishbone involved during Frazier's tenure at Nebraska.

Hagan is the best I've ever seen. He didn't have a brick wall in front of him like Frazier did.

Pure Option its not close Frazier was a freaking beast- 2 titles and missed FG from a third.

Bishop wasn't an option QB.
Mike was dumb as a rock also.

Frazier ran lot of load and freeze the FB was never an option. It was keep pitch

On any given play, it's either him, FB, TB to get the ball. To me that's triple option. Actually sometimes the fakes the option and threw the ball. That quadruple option.

If you are including the Spread Option type offense, Newton and Tebow would have to be in the convo.
If not, I'm not really sure as I was entirely too young (or not alive) when the true option offense was common.

Anyone say Matt Jones yet?

Vince Young. Pretty sure the zone read was the only play Greg Davis was capable of calling.

Crouch can easily make the case for a Top 5 or Top 10 slot on a list of option QBs
Shouldn't the option to pass be an actual concern for a defense for an all-time great option QB?

Michael Bishop
One of the forgotten great QBs

a team like navy runs the option on almost every play.
Nebraska lined up almost exclusively in I formation, and would run the option, but not as much as much as the service academies.
That said, Frazier is absolutely a triple option qb.

Not really because the triple option qb's rarely passed. Triple option is fb up the gut, qb keep or pitch to rb.
It's only the last 15 years with the read option that things have changed.
If I recall, michael bishop and Kansas state never ran triple option, but they did run speed option.

Pure wishbone it's Jamelle Holieway...and just running the bone...nobody was better, faster, more elusive, slick and just freakin' cool. Jamelle was a way better athlete than Frazier, he was Vick before Vick. He was Vick plus Marcus Dupree.
He'd smoke Frazier in a 40 and juking defenders. The guy ran the wishbone like it was second nature.
